What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this product for its lightweight, hydrating gel formula and lack of white cast, making it ideal for daily facial sun protection. The hyaluronic acid content is substantial enough that many say you can skip a separate HA serum. A recurring note: it is not water-resistant, so it is unsuitable for beach or sport use. One reviewer flagged it as less than ideal for very oily skin in summer, though others recommended it specifically for oily skin types seeking a non-greasy option.

"The Neutrogena Hydroboost SPF 50 is lightweight and feels like a serum."

"The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer with Sunscreen combines hydration and some protection in a super lightweight non-greasy formula. It's broadspectrum SPF 50, good against UVA and UVB, completely fragrance free. It hydrates and plumps the skin with a ton of hyaluronic acid in it, so you don't feel like you have to add a hyaluronic acid serum underneath at all. I wouldn't say it's ideal for oily skin types, which is why I didn't use it much in the summertime myself, but for winter it's amazing."

"Neutrogena Hydro Boost with SPF 50, look at that very hydrating. You want that moisturizing cream to help occlude and seal in all that hydration."

"Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer with Sunscreen is SPF 50, fragrance-free, and a nice lightweight hydrating gel. It has hyaluronic acid which is good for improving moisture content in your skin and ultimately that helps support better barrier turnover, smoother skin, and diminishes the appearance of fine lines. This is a chemical sunscreen so no white cast, it's easy to tolerate around the eyes, and it works well under makeup. This is another great option if you have oily skin you don't want something that is greasy. It's not shiny but it's also not matte. It's not water resistant though, so this is one that you wouldn't want to primarily be using like by the pool or at the beach or doing sport outdoors, but for daily use it's a great option."
