Nothing. None of the experts who reviewed it raised a problem.

    What the gurus are saying

The grit hits a real sweet spot: particles are substantial enough to actually exfoliate without feeling sharp or traumatic to skin. Gurus praise the blend of physical pumice and three chemical acids working together to leave skin soft and smooth, and note it's gentle enough for regular use (around once weekly in the shower). The eucalyptus version earns particular love for a spa-like feel, though a fragrance-free option exists for anyone sensitive to scent.

"A body peel that both viewers and I loved was by Necessaire. Their body peel does a beautiful job of exfoliating, leaving the skin soft and smooth."

"I love this [...] because besides having a physical exfoliant to it, it's a very gentle scrub. [...] There's a very gentle physical exfoliation to it, but what I really love is that it has AHAs and BHAs in it. It has glycolic acid, it has salicylic acid, and it has lactic acid in it. I think this is just one of their best products and it's one of the best body exfoliators I have ever used. So I almost always have this in my shower."

"If you like a body scrub, the Necessaire Body Exfoliator is one of my absolute favorites. It comes in a fragrance-free version, but I actually really like the one with the eucalyptus scent, as long as you're not sensitive to fragrance because it really makes you feel like you're at the spa. It combines volcanic pumice for physical exfoliation, and it has salicylic, glycolic, and lactic acid for some chemical exfoliation as well, but it's not harsh."

"The Necessaire Body Exfoliator is actually a chemical and physical exfoliator. The physical exfoliator comes from the little scrubbing particles within the product, and it also has chemical exfoliators like lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid. It comes in a fragrance free version but there are also three fragranced versions as well, and this is actually one of the cases where I prefer a fragranced product. I really like the eucalyptus scented one because it makes me feel like I'm in a spa. This is definitely my most used Body Exfoliator and I use it probably once a week in the shower with small circular motions. I do like how clean and smooth my skin feels after using this. I feel like this one really hits the sweet spot where the exfoliating particles aren't too small so they actually have a little bit of grit and they're doing something, but they're not so big and gritty and sharp that I feel like they're causing trauma to my skin."

"The necessary Body Exfoliator is just divine and probably one of the best body exfoliators I've ever used. The thing that I love the most about this is that it combines physical exfoliation and chemical exfoliation, so it has the little charcoal and pumice beads so you get a little bit of grit which for me in the morning is just like a wake me up, but then it also has salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, so AHAs and BHAs which gently chemically exfoliate the skin and also help with hydration, so that one two punch for me in the morning really gets me going."

"Out of all the Necessaire line, which I think is a fabulous skincare line, I think the Body Exfoliator is truly my favorite. It has this nice scrub to it so if you're really craving physical exfoliation you totally get that in the shower, but then it also has chemical exfoliants in it like glycolic acid and salicylic acid. You're getting dual action exfoliation. It also comes in a eucalyptus scented version which gives you that shower aromatherapy that makes it feel very ritualistic to use, and it smells so good."

"This one also has both chemical and physical exfoliant in it. So it has pumice which is a physical exfoliant and it has your chemical exfoliants your glycolic acid, your salicylic acid, your lactic acid. So it's going to do both. Your chemical exfoliants really help to build collagen especially at higher concentrations, but even at lower concentrations they send signals into the dermis to boost collagen production. So they are going to even out your skin tone, your skin texture, it's going to give you more radiance, but at the same time it may also boost collagen. You're going to have the benefits of both worlds, but you're not having like a super super harsh ingredient super harsh exfoliator. I actually use this on my beard, and I've noticed it's actually really helped to kind of build out any itchiness I get underneath the beard, and it seems to kind of help and it does have that exfoliation to it."
