What the gurus are saying

The emulsion texture sets this apart: it feels like a light lotion rather than a thick paste, making it fast-absorbing and nourishing without stickiness, which gurus say makes it ideal for those with dry or sensitive skin new to azelaic acid. The 10% concentration is the highest available over the counter, and combined with niacinamide and vitamin E, it targets redness, breakouts, and pigmentation gently enough for daily use and pregnancy-safe. Patch-test first if your skin is very reactive, though dermatologists note it's one of the gentlest entry points to the ingredient.

"The Naturium Azelaic Acid emulsion should be applauded for really leading the way in azelaic acid innovation, creating something that's super easy to use but also really inexpensive. I love Naturium for their formulation and the quality of the products they create, and this is honestly one of their standouts. If you're looking for a really easy to use azelaic acid that will slot seamlessly into your routine but still deliver maximum bioavailability in that emulsion form, this is a really great option to go for."

"The Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10% is more of an emulsion than a serum. So it's going to feel a little bit more like a moisturizer. It still targets the redness, the breakouts, the pigment. It supports the barrier health. It's gentle enough for daily use even on the most sensitive and redness prone skin. It's therefore one of the best entry points for those new to azelaic acid. It contains azelaic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin E."

"Azelaic acid you can consider, and I'd like to call out the Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion, it was really nice. I recommend that one for an over the counter option."

"The Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10% contains ten percent azelaic acid brightening complex along with niacinamide. These ingredients are all great for soothing but also help to brighten uneven skin tone. With the emulsion texture it's like a light lotion, so more nourishing but fast absorbing, not sticky. Really ideal for those with more dry skin who are looking for something that helps to brighten the complexion and help with improving uneven skin tone."

"This is Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10%. It has pure azelaic acid in here, we've made it into this really beautiful emulsion texture so it doesn't feel pasty and thick and clumpy. It also has a bioactive brightening complex in here, so again just helping you to get brighter, more even looking skin, and also niacinamide. I love this product, I tell people all the time, if you're pregnant, this is pregnancy friendly. I love this product, and when you can't use like a retinoid and your skin's looking dull, azelaic acid, it's great for your skin. I also love azelaic acid because sometimes I get redness, I don't have rosacea but I do get a lot of redness, and I find that when my skin gets that redness it eventually leads to hyperpigmentation for me, so I like to deal with that visible redness using azelaic acid. It also has like a slight exfoliation to it as well, so if you get clogged pores or anything and you want to use something that's a little bit more gentle than like salicylic acid, azelaic acid is an incredible ingredient."

"This is pure azelaic acid at 10%, meaning it is the highest percentage of azelaic acid that you can get over the counter. For me, I feel like the ten percent is perfect. I use this every single day, morning and night in my skincare routine. It is so nice and light, it feels almost like a really light lotion on your skin. I use it as the last step of my serums and then I apply my moisturizer on top of it. Azelaic acid is pregnancy and breastfeeding safe, so it's great for everybody, even people with sensitive skin."
