What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise this as a soft-touch exfoliant that doesn't feel harsh or irritating, making it accessible for sensitive skin types. The main criticism is that it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave much residual hydration on the face, though some see potential in misting it or applying it to problem areas like freshly irritated skin where its soothing and barrier-repair properties really shine.

"This is a really nice, gentle exfoliant. So, first of all, we have Tea Tree, which I love to help calm my skin. It's great for breakouts, my rosacea. We have niacinamide, another good one for breakouts, but helping kind of even skin tone, helping control that oil in your skin, the sebum. We have Betaine Salicylate and Gluconolactone for moisturizing and for exfoliating. And Citric Acid and, of course, Centella to help soothe and calm the skin. A really nice one, really refreshing one. Doesn't feel like you're using an exfoliant in any way, which isn't a bad thing or a good thing. It just feels like you're using a nice toner. If your skin is prone to irritation, this is a really nice exfoliant to use."

"The toner was good but I felt like it just kind of evaporated off my face really quickly. The main difference between the essence and the toner is that the essence is 100 bifida whereas this one actually has glycerin in it and water so it kind of holds it to your skin better. I decided to put this on my leg after I gave it razor burn because it has like three ingredients and it's meant to rebuild your skin barrier. This works so well. If I had literally shaved the top layer of my skin off it burned a little bit, but this actually soothed my leg overall and I was able to go back to epilating and wearing pajamas the same night whereas normally my leg would be hurting and keeping me up all night. I might actually try putting this on a little spray bottle and misting it on my face or my chest when it does get really hot this summer."
