"You've got about eight ingredients in here. Most of them ferments and filtrates, which are great for hydration. So, it's a super simplistic product, but it just works. If you've got very sensitive skin, this could be a wonderful addition to your winter skincare routine just to get some plumping and some hydration. And as you can see, no tackiness, no stickiness, but it does just give that little glow, that little sort of glass skin vibe. I absolutely love it. I recommend it to everybody that doesn't want something with much mucin. They want something different."

It could be that little hidden hack, that hidden product that helps you achieve your glass skin goals. What makes MIXSOON Bean Essence so special is how it delivers so many amazing outcomes in so few ingredients. MIXSOON aren't a brand I have a lot of experience with, but from first application I was hooked, so I did a little research into the brand itself and they really pride themselves on delivering maximum outcomes with a minimum number of ingredients, just focusing on those ingredients that are going to be most beneficial to the skin. I love this because, whilst I don't have particularly sensitivity-prone skin, I know lots of you do, and if you've got sensitive skin, the best thing you can do is minimize the total number of ingredients. You don't have to compromise on outcomes, just minimize the amount of filler ingredients in the products you use. I was genuinely gobsmacked when I read the ingredients list: seven ingredients, and I got some of the best outcomes I think I've ever seen from a skincare product. That's definitely testament to quality rather than quantity when it comes to ingredients in a skincare serum."

"This is the MIXSOON Bean Essence. It's packed full of fermented ingredients, and fermented ingredients are key for hydration. It is studied and clinically proven that fermenting an ingredient adds extra hydration versus the original unfermented version, so ferments are going to be a dry skin person's literal Holy Grail and best friend. This Bean Essence has very few ingredients and yet somehow guarantees you the plumpest, juiciest skin of your life. It is a little bit on the tacky side, but you work that in and it will disappear without a trace, and I think that thick viscosity is key because that's really what's going to dial up the hydration and nourish. It's super affordable when you consider one pump will do the whole face, and while you get maximum plumping and hydration, you just don't get that sticky, tacky feel you can get with some other hydrating serums. For me, that is gold. Personally, I love this. It's simple in terms of its formulation and ingredient profile, but don't let simplicity put you off: it is going to be a powerhouse hydrator. To get it to sink in to perfection, make sure you're applying it onto damp skin. Your skin will be hydrated all day long."

"It's really good. If you want the outcomes that you get from snail mucin without snail mucin, you could opt for this. It's vegan as well. So if you're somebody that's vegan, living a plant-based lifestyle, this is a vegan alternative to snail mucin. It's very stringy, but it's not sticky or slimy on the skin. Doesn't have that snail mucin scent to it that I'm not a big fan of. And it gives you just that nicest plump hydration and a little bit of a boost to the skin. You've got very few ingredients in here. You've got your water, you've got some humectants, you've got the ferments. So you've got six different ferments in here, which are fantastic. Ferments really do boost the skin hydration levels, and some studies show they could be beneficial for fading hyperpigmentation, too."

"These Bean Essence products have just kind of overtaken snail mucin. It's very thick, and it's got a thick viscosity and a gel-like feel. It's designed to do what snail mucin would, but without the snails involved, and it plumps and hydrates. It definitely does all of that. If you're somebody that wants that instant glass-skin look, super glossy, super smooth, glowing, this will give you that in an instant. The only reason I'm saying it's a meh for me is I hate the texture. I really hate that slime in it. If you like snail mucin you'll love this; if, like me, you didn't like the texture of snail mucin, this is still going to be a pass for you. Look at that glow on the skin. If you want that glow, this is the product to deliver it. You're just going to have to accept it's a little on the slimy side, at least for me."

"This is the viral many times over MIXSOON Bean Essence. I actually prefer this to snail mucin. I find snail mucin very sticky, and I don't like the idea of the snails. This is a great vegan alternative. You get that same bounce from it, that same hydration and the same great results, but it is snail-free. It will hydrate you, it will plump you out. And if you want a really simple yet hyper effective plumping serum, this is great. You see a lot of celebrities endorsing this, lots of content creators falling over themselves to praise this and say how amazing it is. A lot of that is obviously sponsored. Take it from someone who is independent and not sponsored: this is actually good. Word of mouth only, no sponsorship. I actually think this is one of the best Korean serums out there and, in my opinion, better than any snail mucin you'll find."

"In here we've got first of all water, then propylene glycol which is a humectant. I love that combination. Then glycerin which is another humectant, and that's actually one of my favorites. Then they've got five different ferments in this product and I love ferments. They're conditioners for the skin. No big smell to this, I love it. I would use it, I would buy it. This product is Dr. V approved, and I would rather you purchase this than the snail mucin because of cruelty to snails."

"It's not bad, but it's definitely not as good as the Cosrx Snail Mucin. I would not suggest this as an alternative. Objectively, I am not seeing the same level of results that I get with the Cosrx Snail Mucin. I find this to just kind of be like almost like a lightweight hyaluronic acid serum. I don't get the improved elasticity, the glass skin that everybody likes. I don't really appreciate that improved luminosity with this product. It's hydrating, a big player in this product I think is glycerin, which is very hydrating, so I think that's doing a lot of the heavy lifting in this product. Maybe there are anti-inflammatory compounds from all of the ferments and everything, but I'm not really seeing the results with this, if I'm being perfectly honest. And it's not cheap either. It's $35 for 1.69 oz, which is about 50 mls, whereas the Cosrx Snail Mucin is at the most $25 for 3.38 oz, and at the most because on Amazon they're constantly having sales. It's almost always easy to find it for less than $25. So for me it's like less expensive, better results with Cosrx."

I'm really glad I bought it, tried it, reviewed it, because some things get really popular on social media and you might assume they're going to be amazing, and to me that was just a letdown."

As an essence, you just spread a very light layer on your skin. As an exfoliator you put a slightly thicker layer on, then exfoliate. "The Mixsoon Bean Essence has Fermented Soybean in here, which is great for leveling out that oil water balance in your skin, that moisture balance, whilst also helping to retain that hydration and moisture. There's also Pomegranate Extract, which is a great antioxidant, and Pear Juice, which is an amazing antioxidant. We have Saccharomyces Barley Seed Ferment Filtrate as well, which is one of those amazing, kind of brightening, skin barrier friendly, caring, nourishing ingredients that you typically see in a more liquidy essence. So, yes, a real one of its kind type of product."

"The unique thing about this product is it's a gentle kind of exfoliant they call it an Essence. I have been strictly using this as an Essence for about 3 months now and I love it. Oh my God, the glow that it leaves on your skin is incredible. If you need that extra kind of wrap of moisture and nourishment to your skin, this is incredible. It also really helps with the texture of your skin in general without using it as an exfoliant. We have soybean ferment extract which is supposedly very very good at balancing that oil moisture level and help strengthen the Skin Barrier. We have pear juice which is an antioxidant and pomegranate extract, which is an antioxidant. As is always with Mixsoon, it's a very minimal ingredient list. This is a product unique within itself."

"This is just one of those amazing two in one, super effective products. You can use this as almost like an exfoliating step, like oil pulling. You put this on your skin and then you gently rub and it basically brings out all these sebaceous filaments and blackheads. But as an essence, it has four fermented ingredients, including soybean, barley, pomegranate and Korean pear, which is going to help brighten your complexion and help with your natural oil moisture balance in the skin. It just feels so nourishing on the skin. It's got almost like an aloe vera type texture, a little bit like a very watery jelly. You have this really nice, non-suffocating, lightweight, breathable film on your skin that just feels so nourishing, especially on those dry areas. It just kind of feels like it absorbs it all, whilst also keeping everything locked in."

I love the fermented ingredients in here for my skin personally, when I have very, very dry skin, I'm going to use this. Especially if I know I'm wearing makeup during the day for whatever reason.
