What the gurus are saying

Gurus overwhelmingly praise the fermented ingredient blend for hydration and brightening benefits, with a texture that absorbs cleanly without greasiness. The main divide is skin type: those with dry skin call it a staple everyday cream, while oilier-skinned reviewers suggest using it as a night mask or seasonal treatment. One dermatologist flags the essential oils (bergamot and lavender) as potential irritants, particularly concerning for skin of color, which conflicts with the broader positive reception.

"This is a basic moisturizer with emollients and ferment which I love. But they added irritants. They added bergamot fruit oil and they added lavender oil. These are both irritants. They're essential oils. Essential oils smell great. They might make you feel good. They even reduce your cortisol levels because now you're calm. But essential oils are fragrant. And when that happens it removes water with it. And skin of color we have less water in our skin. We have less ceramides in our skin. Our skin is drier and duller. It's the opposite of what we should be doing. This is the same reason I do not want you wearing denatured alcohol in your skincare. On top of that is a skin sensitizer. So please, I know the very expensive, the luxury 100, 200, 300 dollar creams contain those ingredients. They are bad for skin of color. Please avoid."

"This cream is enriched with fermented soybean extract. Fermentation breaks down the bioactives into smaller molecules that can provide better skin hydration, maybe offer some brightening benefits, and we do know soy has brightening benefits. It's a lovely moisturizer that really helps to better hydrate the skin. Texture-wise it is a thicker cream, but the ingredients make it really lovely and it's not super heavy or greasy. It contains lactobacillus fermented soybeans extract as well as fermented barley, which offers a unique different blend of different vitamins and minerals and bioactives that is slightly different from soy, along with fermented pomegranate as well as fermented Korean pear. Lots of great goodies that are fermented that offer a range of different bioactives that help to hydrate the skin, support skin barrier, and offer brightening benefits. I personally find the Mixsoon Bean Cream to be just slightly a little bit more nourishing. It fast absorbs, leaves behind minimal residue, and the ingredients with the fermentation offer more brightening benefits and also maybe some gentle exfoliation."

"The Mixsoon Bean Cream is a personal favorite of mine. Whenever I'm doing a K-beauty shop, I will always pop this one in the basket just to have, because I know I could always rely on it and fall back on it. It has Fermented Soybean, which is great for leveling out that oil water balance in your skin and helping to retain hydration and moisture, along with Fermented Pomegranate, Barley, Korean Pear. The Fermented Pomegranate is a great antioxidant but also helps with skin texture. Fermented Pear Juice is great in antioxidants. It has Adenosine in here, which is nice and anti-inflammatory, along with Glycerin to help keep hydration in our skin. It's a really nice one, especially if your skin is on the drier side. If you're oilier, you'd like this more as a night mask. It's also great on the body for dry areas like elbows, knees, and the back of your feet. It's a really nice one just to have in your skincare collection for when your skin goes through those rougher times."

"This is fantastic if you're super dry. I would say that this probably isn't going to stay in my routine because while it's really good, it's just too hydrating for me. It is like a thick basically like a ceramide bean cream with minimal ingredients built on K Beauty staples. It has capric triglyceride, metofoam, turmeric for brightening and the main ingredients do make this like a very hydrating moisturizer. I did like this and I would say this is fantastic for me as a night mask but if you're dry this is going to be your new like everyday hydrating cream. You could also layer it under the sunscreen because the centella sunscreen doesn't peel up and you could literally push hydration deep into your skin while also protecting yourself from the sun with the anti-redness of the centella. For my oily skin I don't know if this is going to stay in there forever but I am going to hold on to this especially for wind and winter because it doesn't expire for 12 months. I'm going to give this a go in like really dry climates and dry weather. If you're dry I think you're gonna love this but if you're oily like me this probably isn't the best fit."
