What the gurus are saying

Finding the right shade is tricky. One person found shade 21 a perfect match that evens skin beautifully, but another hit yellow and orange undertones, while the application earns praise for being fast and easy to blend by pressing. Though it's very affordable, staying power through the day may be shorter than you'd want, and newer cushions tend to last longer.

"I chose this one because I saw it on TikTok and the sales are high on Amazon, it released back in 2018 and it's no longer sold in Korea so I had to buy it online. The coverage is high and it's very affordable, but the color is too yellow, it's recommended for oily combo skin in summer, the color runs darker than other Korean brands and a bit orange. Even though it's very affordable, cushions have evolved so much in the last six years that I can't find a reason to use this one, and its persistency is too low for me, I'd pass on this one."

"This is the Misha Magic Cushion Cover Lasting foundation in shade number 21. I felt so happy to find a good shade match. Watch how nicely this applies, it is beautiful, and it fully evened my skin tone. I can't get over how fast it is to apply this cushion foundation, it's just so easy to blend into your skin just by pressing it."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
