What the gurus are saying

Creators agree this is a solid gentle cleanser that works well for normal to dry skin types. The hydrating finish and fragrance-free formula are viewed as pluses. The overall read is positive but measured, with the sense that while it does its job reliably, it doesn't stand out as exceptional.

"The Minimalist Aquaporin Cleanser has more of that glycerin slip and leaves behind that little bit of that glycerin feel. Glycerin is known to actually increase aquaporin expression, and as you increase aquaporin expression, you're able to bring more water into the skin, so it is a hydrating cleanser. It does have hyaluronic acid, it does have betaine, all the products are fragrance-free, and I think it's a good gentle cleanser that leaves behind a little bit of a hydrating finish. Is it rocking the world? No, probably not."

"For normal to dry skin, it's got water, then glycerin, then glycerol glucoside, which is your humectant so it holds water in the top layer of skin. It's also got D-panthenol in it too, which is also another humectant, and it's got sodium lauryl methylate, which is a very gentle surfactant and works very well for dry skin. It's got anti-inflammatories in here too, so I actually really like this formula for normal to dry skin."
