What the gurus are saying

Gurus split on this formula. Fans praise its lift, length, and gentle removal on lashes, plus solid longevity at a budget price point. Critics flag a wet application that requires drying time, transfer during blinking, and notable smudging when touched. The core divide centers on wear performance and the finish it leaves on lashes, from natural to spiky.

"It's a tubing mascara. It really does give a good amount of lift and length. It stays on well, like doesn't get too flaky. I like the Milani one. It's really good. The longevity is good, it does get a little flaky in comparison to some others, but it's barely different. $12.99 for this one."

"The Milani one's pretty good, very similar to this. The tubing mascaras I do find provide a little bit of that detail-oriented application, and they don't clump on my bottom lashes the way regular mascara does."

"The Milani got a two out of five score on the application because it applied very wet and it took a while to dry down, and it would transfer when I blinked so I had to do quite a bit of cleanup. The lashes are long but they're a little bit on the spiky side, not very natural looking. On the smudge ability, this only got a two out of five on the smudge factor. It did smudge off if you touched your lashes. For me, a mascara is number one if it doesn't have a high smudge factor. On washing off, it took five or six swipes, so I doused each eyelash in water and got them saturated like if I was in the shower and then I wiped them off to see if the tubes came off."
