What the gurus are saying

These patches draw fluid from pimples to flatten them and heal them faster, and dermatologists praise them especially for stopping the urge to pick or squeeze, which protects skin from permanent scarring. The patches come in different thicknesses and shapes (stars, hearts, circles, invisible styles), but all work the same way; the thicker versions are more durable with less creasing when applied. They also work well on mosquito bites to instantly ease itching and prevent scratching.

"The little Mighty Patch set is a good one, too. Those are great on a bug bite, but for a pimple, they definitely help cut down on friction that aggravates the pimple as well as reduce the likelihood that you'll pick and squeeze. This right here is underrated."

"The Mighty Patch is a hydrocolloid patch that helps you put it on a pimple and it serves as a barrier protecting it as well as keeping you from picking at it. So it helps with healing basically. Hydrocolloid helps to absorb excess fluid inflammatory exudate coming from the pimple and that will help flatten it out and help it to heal. I also love using these on mosquito bites. They take the itch away from a mosquito bite almost instantly once you put them on and again prevent you from scratching it."

"If you have a tendency to pick or squeeze, even absentmindedly, I highly recommend Mighty Patch. They are in my opinion the best in the industry in terms of hydrocolloid patches because they stay on really well, they're super comfortable to wear, you can't even see them on your skin unless you get up really close, and they stay on through a heavy workout. They make them in a variety of different sizes and shapes as well. What these do is they serve as a barrier between the pimple and your fingers, and they serve as a barrier also against frictional forces that could rev up that pimple and make it look angry and red."

"These hydrocolloid pimple patches help draw a little bit of fluid to the surface so they can actually help shrink your pimples faster. I really like the Mighty Patch. Whatever works for you, whether you want the little star-shaped or the heart-shaped or you want the ones that are more invisible like me, go for the Mighty Patch and you're going to be in good shape."

"Examples of hydrocolloid patches that I like are these very simple natural ones, these are by Neutrogena, they're stubborn acne patches. These are ones by Mighty Patch. Do not be fooled by the difference here. These are invisible, these are the original, these are just slightly thicker, these are a little bit thinner. Ultimately they work the same way, and so they're not different in terms of what they offer. One is just a little bit thinner, which is the invisible one versus the original, pretty much identical."

"This one is quite thick, but it doesn't mean it's going to last longer. It's going to be more durable and there's less creasing happening when you're putting your finger down."

"Mighty Patch, you know that one I think is my wife's favorite. Pimple patches do come in different sizes and shapes they have like stars they have just circles that's the most popular one with bigger circle and very small dot sizes. I have no problems with it the technology is fine hydrocolloid patches they really do draw out the impurities maybe some purulence. It doesn't control your acne it will just help treat the particular area or protect it. I say it's more for protection because some people, a lot of my patients like to pick at their acne and that's called acne excoriation. When you are a picker and you like to pick at any irregularities in the face especially if you're having a raised acne form lesion on your cheek people will pick it to the point where it will get scarred and scarring is permanent acne scarring we want to avoid at all costs and so I like the pimple patches to protect your face protect the acne on your face from you picking at it."
