    What the gurus are saying

A natural-looking highlight with no glitter or metallic shimmer earns praise for blending seamlessly into skin and looking like you've just had a facial. The balm works on its own straight onto bare skin or layered over makeup, and translates well across the face, shoulders and collarbone. One tester found it so dewy and glowy that a small amount at the cheekbones was all she needed.

"I have a new favorite highlighter, this is the one by Merit. I also discovered this late in the year and it has replaced the Westman Atelier The Lit that I liked so much. I just love this for a little touch of highlight and it's so subtle but so pretty. Definitely a new Holy Grail highlighter find for me."

"I'm just going to pop it here at the tops of my cheekbones. I don't really feel like I need it anywhere else because I feel like everything is so glowy and is so dewy."

"I'm gonna go in with Merit's Daylow. This is a shade kava, which is stunning. It's not. I wouldn't even say this is a color. It's more like a finish. It just has this luminous glow to it. I just love this highlighter so much. When a highlight is really, really nice and it's not glittery and it's not overly shimmery, and it just looks like my skin is really, really glowing, I just love it. The formula and the texture, that's what I want from the highlight. I like to keep it just how it is on the skin."

"This is a glowy bronze product, and you do want to apply them like you would a highlighter, but not in the same places. Highlighters have that glow to it that, if you were to put it over the whole face, you would just look oily. So you kind of want to be careful that you're not adding excess sweat look to your face. Instead of going over the whole face, just keep them in the areas where you would bronze naturally, more like around the outside of the face. I'm even going to avoid my nose and just use them more wrapping around my cheeks because this one has a really, really nice glow to it. If I was to do that over my whole face, I'm going to look really super oily."
