What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as a lightweight, everyday bronzer with a pleasant balmy texture that blends seamlessly for a skin-like finish. The key appeal is its versatility: it works as a subtle bronzer, can double as a light contour, and is conditioning enough to use around the eye area. The recurring note is that it's sheer and buildable rather than intense, which some love for natural looks and others wish had more pigment in a single application.

"This balmy texture is stunning. I love it. It pairs nicely with tinted serums and tinted moisturizers, and if you want to warm up the skin but not in a heavy way, like maybe it's too much to do a full-on cream contour, this is perfect. I have the shade Quint."

"The Merit bronze balm is a really nice everyday kind of balmy bronzer. It's a sheer bronzer, basically not completely sheer, but it's a balm essentially exactly what the title is. I've been wearing this on the kind of vibe where I'm wearing makeup but it all looks very skin-like, and this is a product that I've been really enjoying for those situations. You can see the balmy finish that it gives. I do usually set my face after using this still, but it never looks like too much, which is so nice especially for everyday. There's definitely situations where I feel like I want a little more coverage in my bronzer, but it's nice to have something a little less intense."

"The bronze balm which is one of my absolute favorite lightweight skinlike bronzing balms and if you actually get the right tone it actually makes a great contour as well if you want something light and realistic."

"I absolutely love this stick. This is like one of my absolute favorite products ever. It has fatty acids in it which really condition and like lock in moisture so it's not going to sit in texture. The same kind of bronzer or contour you're going to use on your face is great to take through your eye socket as well just to kind of make a look really cohesive. Something like a bronzing balm would be beautiful just to add a little bit of definition."
