What the gurus are saying

Gurus sharply divide on this product. One camp finds it a reliable hydrating staple that preps skin well for subsequent products. The other side criticizes it heavily for leaving skin sticky and featuring an overwhelmingly artificial, cloying rose scent rather than a gentle one. The split hinges on whether the formula and fragrance intensity work for individual skin types and preferences.

"I am the founder of the hate club for that product. I absolutely despise it. I feel like it just makes your skin sticky. It smells so strong and not even like a nice gentle rose scent. It's like if the rose rammed a line and then shoved itself into the bottle. It's just way too intense. I don't like it."

"Mario Badescu toner, it's a staple, it's a classic, it's been in people's routines for a very long time. If you are hydrating your skin with a toning mist like that and then you're quickly going in with your next skincare products, there is benefit to that, hydrating your skin, making sure that you're putting on products to lock all that hydration in. It can be as simple as just some rose water."
