"The Mario Badescu Drying Patches have salicylic acid which I know my skin reacts well to. They also have hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin C. I really really liked these. I got these for three pounds from Beauty Works. I think if you leave them on all day, they really do do something. Of the three, the Mario Badescu ones were the best."

"Mario Badescu, I never thought would make it on the list but it did. These were really good, they're really tiny but there are 60 of these in here and they're called the Drying Patch. Out of all of the patches that I've tried, it's not the best the best but this is a really good one. I know that a lot of people hate Mario Badescu but they do make some good products and I really feel like this one stands out among the others because not only is it a pimple patch but it has hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and vitamin C along with salicylic acid. The salicylic acid in here is actually what helps with the acne bacteria and kills the bacteria but the niacinamide and vitamin C kind of help with any of the dark spots that are left over. To have niacinamide and vitamin C in a patch and to get 60 of them for like under 20 bucks, really good. I was really impressed with these and I purchased this but I think I will purchase them again once I run out. There's a lot of them in here for the price. The efficacy, if you have period breakouts or specifically if you're more prone to pigmentation and you get like the red purple marks, this might be your pimple best friend."

"These are the Drying Patches from Mario Badescu. I want to say these are not my favorite pimple patches, but Mario Badescu did a good job with these. They have niacinamide, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and salicylic acid, and these are basically these little hydrocolloid patches that you put on. I have been really impressed by these. They are not my favorite—I love Zitstica. There are some new ones that I'm also trying out. But if you are looking for something budget and inexpensive and you don't want to spend the money on the Zit Sticker patches, you could try these because they are on sale for Prime Day."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

    Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

    Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid dissolves in oil, so it can get into a pore rather than just working on the surface. That is why it has long-standing evidence for blackheads and milder acne.
