What the gurus are saying

These drops work instantly to make eyes look whiter and more awake, and gurus praise them especially for travel fatigue, allergies, and the tired look that comes with age. The big difference from older redness relievers like Visine is that Lumify targets the veins without disrupting oxygen flow to the eye surface, so it does not cause the rebound redness and dependency those older drops do. Most gurus suggest using them sparingly and checking with an eye doctor first, especially if you wear contacts, though those who have done so report no issues.

"I used Lumify for years and used to swear by them, I'd panic if I didn't have one on me. But I didn't realize you're not supposed to use them more than once or twice a day, and I was using them six to twelve times a day because of chronic dry eye. It turns out you can develop an allergy if you use them too frequently, and I definitely was overdoing it. Now I have an allergy to Lumify and can no longer use them, and even prescription drops don't work on my eyes anymore."

"I used to use Lumify eye drops and I swore by those, but apparently you're not supposed to use those like eight times a day, and that's how much I was using them because my eyes would get so red so quickly. Then I developed an allergy to Lumify, so I can no longer use it. They make my eyes just ridiculously bloodshot."

"If you prep your eyes with one drop, that's all you need in each eye, your makeup will look so much better and you will just look more awake and more youthful. The good thing about Lumify is that it works on the veins in your eye. So it does not disrupt blood flow or oxygen flow to the surface of your eye the way old school Visine or Clear Eyes did. And the problem with Visine and Clear Eyes is it would cause this rebound redness and this dependency and you don't get that with something like Lumify. So although I still try to only use it sparingly, I feel much safer using something like this long term. And I also fact checked this with my bestie who is an ophthalmologist at Vanderbilt and she was like, 'Yeah, if you're going to use an eye brightener, like we always recommend Lumify.'"

"The Lumify just brightens my eyes and I've been using it for now I think about 2 years. As I've gotten in my wiser years I noticed that my eyes just are more dull looking sometimes in the morning and I'm just not quite quite wide awake looking so the Lumify just brightens my eyes."

"One of my favorite eye drops is Lumify. It just helps brighten up the eyes. I don't know if you've noticed as you've gotten in your wiser years if your eyes just aren't as clear as they used to be, but this definitely brightens my eyes. I usually have a lot of allergies somewhat year round where I live and this just brightens up my eyes, makes them whiter, and I have no problem using this with my contacts. I've definitely once again checked with my ophthalmologist and they have no problem with me using this, but definitely check with your ophthalmologist, everyone has different health concerns with their eyes."

"This is something that you can use to get rid of red eye, not pink eye due to conjunctivitis because I don't think this would work for that. But this does a really good job to get rid of the redness and then the whites of your eyes are white and bright and you just look more awake. I just use it when I need it and it does a really good job for when you need something in a pinch to get rid of that red eye."

"When my allergies are really bad my eyes get really red and I use this occasionally maybe once a week or something. It does instantly make your eyes brighter. It is pretty impressive. If you haven't tried it, might be worth a try depending on your issues with your eyes."
