What they liked

  • Sheer, satin finish
  • Gold and pink duochrome
  • Works well concentrated in the center

What they flagged

Nothing. None of the experts who reviewed it raised a problem.

    What the gurus are saying

Both gurus who tried it praised the shade as a flattering gold-pink duochrome that pairs well with warm eyeshadow. The formula reads sheer and lightly matte rather than glossy and slick, which one guru welcomed for its subtlety. That means those after a full shine or a bold, wet finish may want to layer it or pair it with a more luminous balm, but anyone drawn to a softer gloss will likely appreciate how it sits on the lips.

"I saw this and I thought this is Barbie plus it's Lisa Eldridge and since her products were actually used in the movie I thought it would be perfect. So this is the gloss and the shade Dancing Rose, it's kind of like a gold and pink duochrome gloss which I think is going to match the eyes perfectly."

"That's not going to feel heavy on the lips, that's not going to dry your lips out, it has this incredible pigment and soft, even color. [...] My all-time favorite lip gloss of all time, Dancing Rose. I can't even talk to you about how much I love this lip gloss. It is such perfection. It has the most beautiful combination of pearl in it where you have this pale gold, but you can see almost a minty green almost with this beautiful fuchsia pink. [...] This is hands down my favorite one. [...] I love that the doe foot is so comfy. The formula is so comfy. You can see it's very sheer."

I LOVE these nude lip products for pale olive skin
"Dancing Rose is my favorite lip gloss of all time. I have a lot of lip glosses that I love, but I feel like they're all kind of interchangeable. I can't live without Dancing Rose. It's a combination of this really beautiful warm pale gold with this really pretty blue toned pink, like hot pink almost. What I love about it [...] is that the pearl in it creates this beautiful shimmer. The pearl is not this intense glitter, but it creates [...] these reflexes that just dance on the lips and it creates this beautiful dimension to the lips. Dancing Rose is the perfect name for it. It's my favorite shimmery lip."

"Gloss lip gloss cuz I love that gloss so much so beautiful"

"My favorite lip gloss from Lisa Eldridge Dancing Rose is so pretty. I typically focus the gloss in the center of my lips where it can tend to be a little bit dry, and I don't bring it out to my lip liner so that area can stay just a little bit more matte."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

    Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
