What the gurus are saying

The gurus who reviewed it consistently praised how elegantly it sits on skin, with the tinted version earning particular praise for its non-orange tone and hydrating, mousse-like texture that works across different skin tones. Those with oily skin may especially appreciate the mattifying effect, while those drawn to hydration will find the lightweight formula feels like a tinted moisturizer. The formula skips heavy silicones and pairs mineral UV filters with antioxidants like niacinamide and lingonberry, though at SPF 33 it sits slightly lower than many daily sunscreens.

"Lightsaver is an activated mineral sunscreen, and it comes in a tinted version as well. I personally prefer the tinted version to the non-tinted version, but I think this particular sunscreen is great for people who are oily because it has a mattifying effect. It is fragrance free and it retails for $45. It is an SPF of 33."

"It really just feels so hydrating. It has a really nice universally flattering tint. The tint is less orangey on me than the others that I've talked about already. The LightSaver one is the most non-orangy on me, which I really appreciate. It does also just provide light coverage, but this is a really elegant sunscreen that I think is wonderful for day-to-day use. If you are looking for something that has a whipped mousse texture that offers more hydration, then this is it."

"It applies like a really hydrating tinted moisturizer that disappears into my skin right away. It doesn't really have any cast on my skin tone, and unlike other tinted mineral sunscreens that rely heavily on silicone, this doesn't have dimethicone or any popular silicone oils. This is an absolutely stunning formula. Because this is developed by a dermatologist, there's an ingredient called phytolis, which is an innovative ingredient encapsulated in liposome that helps improve sun-induced damage while helping to calm and soothe the skin. There's also niacinamide, which is another great antioxidant with squalene, which is a really lightweight oil, and lingonberry, which is really rich in polyphenols and a really potent antioxidant. It's a really rich tinted mineral sunscreen, and it is absolutely amazing."
