Lip Sleeping Mask.

"Their lip mask is kind of the lip version of the sleeping mask. It offers different flavors, with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and antioxidants that provide that hydrating component that makes your skin noticeably softer and smoother by the morning. "It's rich in fatty acids and antioxidants muru muru seed butter, nicely moisturizing, and vitamin C-rich berry extracts for that antioxidant boost. It's just very good at what it does. It's thick, it's got a balmy texture that locks in hydration overnight. I don't like the strawberry scent for some reason, but every other version of this lip mask genuinely helps with dry, flaky, tight-feeling lips. While you can probably just use Vaseline and while you could probably use any other lip balm, it's still great. It still holds up. It's really stood the test of time."

"I think initially you're going to love this product when you put it on but actually it's going to be shortlived. Your lips are going to feel really dry and you're just not going to get the benefits. It just sits on the lips, it's not penetrating into the lips. That's what you want: humectants that are going to pull the hydration into the lips, which you're not really getting with this product. This is probably one of the worst products I've tried today."

"Coconut oil can cause breakouts, which might explain some reviews where people are saying they got pimples around their lips. [...] The ingredients aren't revolutionary, and the whole thing is that they're saying it's a sleeping mask that hydrates and has vitamin C. I don't know if I want to pay $24 for that, and I'm also not going to because it's not cruelty-free. If you're someone who puts this on and you're [...] getting breakouts around your lips, or if you wake up with drier lips than when you started, that's something to consider. There's nothing toxic or dangerous in here, but there's nothing revolutionary either, and with the coconut oil I could see that causing breakouts for some people. [...] The hydrators and protectants don't seem that revolutionary, especially when we compare it to some other things on the market."

"The LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask claims to gently slough away dead skin cells for smooth and supple lips in the mornings. The one I have, Grapefruit, doesn't smell like a real grapefruit but much sweeter, [...] not as citrussy as I had imagined. It's peachy pink in color, just like the packaging, but doesn't add any color to the lips. The texture feels a little waxy but is easy to distribute with the warmth of your finger, and adds quite a bit of shine. Although it's called a Lip Sleeping Mask, it's perfectly fine to use throughout the day as well, even if you don't nap. The texture means it stays on the lips, forming a protective layer that keeps moisture from evaporating, but also leaves a film that transfers to your glass. I don't mind that and often wear it during the day when I'm at my desk typing away, but it's not great if you want to put it on right before you apply lipstick, as the thick texture means that would slide off. [...] The formula is made up mainly of waxes and emollients, mainly synthetic, but with Squalane and Coconut Oil added to the mix. As humectant you'll find Glycerin and then there's Vitamin C, but probably very low in concentration, plus a variety of plant extracts and [...] colorants and fragrance including Limonene, Citral and Linalool which are known irritants. I'm not sure what is supposed to slough off dead skin cells, I would have expected something with exfoliating properties for that and I can't find anything that fits that description on the ingredient list. Overall it is a great product that keeps the lips soft and hydrated during the night, so it will earn a permanent place on my bedside table."

"I'm not at all surprised that the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a best seller, that's a very popular product. These come in all kinds of different fun scents, and I think that's Laneige's best selling point, you get to pick the flavor of your lip mask that you enjoy. In my opinion I don't think this is the best lip mask, I already have my favorites, but it's not too expensive, it does have fun flavors, and it is all right, it's a good lip mask, it's just not my absolute favorite."

"If you love their lip sleeping masks keep on using them, for me though I don't think they add a lot of hydration. I think as a brand they over promise and they under deliver. It's said to be like an overnight sensation for the lips and I actually woke up with quite dry lips when I tried this so clearly it wasn't really doing a whole lot. [...] I'm not the biggest fan of the level of hydration it gives and there are so many different scents and flavors to them. I think a lot of the colorants and the fragrances and the scents that they put in them could potentially irritate the lips further. [...] I tried them time and time again and always my lips will end up drier in the morning than when I went to bed. It clearly wasn't doing anything for me."

"I don't think they're really necessary. They're a little bit pricey. They tend to have fragrances in them. They can be a little bit irritating. But then again, they have lipids like shea butter that can be moisturizing as well. If I was going to choose one between Laneige and Tatcha, I'd choose Laneige. I hate the fact that they have fragrance in them because this is a leave-on on a sensitive area where the fragrance is absolutely unnecessary because you're asleep. You can't even enjoy the fragrance. But what I do like about them is this gives you like 6 to 8 hours where you have the opportunity to intensely hydrate your lips."
