What the gurus are saying

This cream delivers a genuinely luxurious feel and texture that many appreciate, especially those with dry or mature skin, thanks to its peptide and niacinamide blend. However, the same active ingredients show up in much more affordable formulas, so the premium price tag is largely for the experience and texture rather than performance that justifies the cost on paper alone. It's a lovely moisturizer if the indulgence factor matters to you, but not a must-have at this price point.

"It's built around peptides and niacinamide which are all ingredients I actually like for supporting the skin over time. It's a lovely moisturizer. My only note here is really the price because niacinamide and peptides show up in much more affordable creams too. So do you really have to spend all that money on it? I don't know. You're really paying that premium for the texture and honestly the experience. And if that's what brings you joy in life, then it's completely valid."

"I love peptides in my skincare routine. [...] I enjoyed using this, I didn't love using this. I think I expected a lot from it. I didn't love the texture of it. [...] It wasn't super super super moisturizing for my dry skin, so I didn't end up feeling like this was the best because I still had to put moisturizer on top of it. I have dry skin though, so for somebody that doesn't have dry skin, maybe if you have normal skin you might find that this is moisturizing enough."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid dissolves in oil, so it can get into a pore rather than just working on the surface. That is why it has long-standing evidence for blackheads and milder acne.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
