    What the gurus are saying

The shine on these tubes earns real praise. Gurus who tested them highlight the glow and describe them as iconic, with the re-release staying faithful enough to what made the original work in the first place. That means if you loved them years ago, they should feel familiar; if you're trying them for the first time, you're getting a classic formula that has stood the test of time.

"Lancôme launched their Juicy Tubes in the year 2000, [...] which they recently brought back. These were discontinued and then re-released, but it's very close to the original formula apparently. [...] How fun is this? [...] I feel like some things might have been discontinued in the past because technology has just gotten so much better, but then there's some classics that are classics for a reason."

"I'm going in with some Juicy Tubes. Lancôme Juicy Tubes. Purchased myself. These are an icon. Look at that just shine. I really like this one in particular because it is just a glow."

"I recently discovered Lancôme Juicy Tubes. I don't like lip gloss because they're sticky and my hair sticks to them, and many lip glosses are irritating with flavorants. But this stays in place and it doesn't get sticky. It feels like it's going to be sticky but then it's not, and it's actually pretty moisturizing. I love the color, the shade Magic Spell."

"A while ago in a favorites video I was raving about the Lancome Juicy Lips, and I really like those a lot. But I would say I actually prefer the Neutrogena ones now. [...] The Lancome Juicy Lips are a little sticky, and the Neutrogena ones are not. Plus the Neutrogena ones don't do that stringy thing I cannot stand, where it collects in the corners of your mouth."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.
