What the gurus are saying

This foam cleanser earns consistent praise for feeling remarkably soft and mild, so much so that even those with dry or sensitive skin find it doesn't leave their skin feeling tight. It works beautifully as a second cleanser in a double-cleanse routine, and gurus recommend it especially to anyone whose skin turns red easily. One note: the formula contains fragrance, which may matter if you're trying to avoid it, though a foam cleanser is typically one of the gentler places to encounter fragrance in a routine.

"I thought this was going to feel more stripping and it definitely doesn't. This is actually quite nice. Expectation low, reality, I like this more than I thought I would. Their cleansers do contain fragrance, and I prefer to avoid fragrance, but if I am going to use it in a routine, cleanser is typically the least irritating step for me. I will definitely be reaching for this again if I feel like I need to make sure my heavier makeup is coming off."

"This one has so many reviews on Olive Young in Korea and became viral, partly because Korean beauty YouTuber Lisa Bae mentioned it's the only foam cleanser she uses at home. Even if you're dry or sensitive skin, whatever else you use might leave your skin feeling too tight, but this feels like a cloud. It's great for a second cleanser if you're double cleansing since it's so mild and soft, even softer than the Skin1004 one. I love it so much. If your skin turns red easily, please try this."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Urea

Urea both holds water in the skin and gently loosens dead surface cells. At higher strengths it has good evidence for very dry or thickened skin.
