"Lactic acid and alpha hydroxy acid at 12% strength and higher such as what is found in the Lactin Daily 12% Lotion has been shown to improve epidermal and dermal thickness and reverse skin atrophy. So it's another one that is great to use for age related thinning skin. It's ammonium lactate, the salt of lactic acid, but does the same thing that is also a wonderful ingredient for dry rough skin texture and for hydrating and moisturizing the skin. It can be used on the face, but is more likely to be irritating there. So, if that's something you want to pursue, I suggest doing a spot test first, just to a small area of the face for maybe a couple of nights in a row. See how your skin tolerates it, and if you're tolerating it okay, then move on to using it to the entire face. But I also suggest avoiding the eyelid skin, which is just more delicate and prone to irritation."
