What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as a versatile hybrid cleanser that balances moisture and effective cleansing. The recurring strength is its texture, which feels like a cross between a milk and gel cleanser, foaming enough to remove impurities and oil without stripping the skin barrier. It's celebrated as a year-round staple for sensitive, eczema-prone, and combination skin types, and the pump bottle format appeals especially to families with multiple skin needs. No significant complaints emerged.

"The Lipikar AP Wash from La Roche-Posay is really great and gentle, suitable for babies two weeks and older, and it contains La Roche-Posay thermal spring water, shea butter, and glycerin. It's a really nice cleanser with gentle surfactants that also suds and foams so it cleanses without stripping your skin barrier. What I love about it is it comes in a pump bottle, so it's really easy to dispense and user-friendly, especially if you're washing a baby and kids with eczema. Even though it's designated as a facial cleanser, it's really suitable all over, so you can use it on your body and on your face. It's just nice to have one product that you can use on yourself and on the whole family."

"I'm obsessed with this. I've been talking about it for years. I've emptied quite a few bottles. This is actually something that I use year round. It's not just about chilly weather for me. The hybrid quality of this is what keeps it in my routines consistently. The key ingredients here are glycerin, niacinamide, and shea butter. This product's really formulated with eczema prone skin in mind. The glycerin really replenishes the skin, it hydrates. The niacinamide helps to restore the skin barrier, and the shea butter offers that soothing moisturizing element. I call it a hybrid cleanser because the texture is a little closer between a gel and a milk cleanser combined into one."

"La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Wash, I like this for a lot of reasons. I think it is just a really good marriage between a moisturizing milk type of cleanser and a foaming cleanser. My skin can be prone to dryness especially if I'm going through a sensitivity or irritation, so I like that moisture element to this. But I also struggle with straight-up pure milk cleansers because I feel like they're a little filmy on my skin sometimes, and so I love that this foams, which means it's going to be better at cleaning my skin of any impurities. If I'm sweating a lot, sweat is a huge enemy to my pores when we're talking about congestion and acne. I really do need a foaming cleanser to break all that sweat off and all that thick layer of oil that I can produce in my T-Zone. I need that to really effectively clean through those areas, but I gotta be gentle on the drier areas of my skin too. So this does it all, and it's a nice big size as well. I think it's a nice all-purpose type of cleanser in any situation, it's going to suit my skin."

Stress-Free AM and PM Summer Skincare Routine
"This is the La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Wash. I love this obviously, I'm loving it down to the last drop. What I like about this is the texture is kind of like a milk and a gel all in one, so it's not super duper milky, moisturizing, creamy, but it's not so super like a harsh and foamy either. It's like the perfect blend of both. I produce a good amount of oil throughout the day and I have makeup on, so I want an effective clean. I don't want to strip moisture, I don't want to hurt my skin barrier, but I want my skin to feel so clean and so refreshed when I rinse this off. And this cleanser does that."
