What the gurus are saying

The experts who tried this one consistently praise how it balances hydration with effective cleansing, thanks to ingredients like thermal spring water, shea butter, glycerin, and niacinamide. That means those with dry or sensitive skin won't feel stripped after washing, and the light lather means it doesn't leave a greasy residue behind. The gurus found it gentle enough for children and even suitable for people undergoing chemotherapy, making it a solid choice for anyone seeking a cleanser that nourishes rather than irritates.

"I'm using the La Roche-Posay Lipikar gentle foaming cleansing oil as my face and body wash. This is super gentle, great for my sensitive skin."

"If you are looking for a gentle cleanser that is helping to cleanse your skin effectively at the same time minimizing dryness and irritation, I love the one from La Roche-Posay, the Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil. In fact, I think my family and I have gone through like two bottles of it. I love it for myself and for my kids. It's just a lovely oil cleanser but that foams readily so you feel like you're getting a good cleanse but at the same time it is very gentle and does not strip your skin barrier. It's even been tested and suitable for individuals that have cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy because we know in those patients they tend to have more skin sensitivity and dryness. Ingredient-wise, it contains La Roche-Posay's famous thermal spring water that we know helps to balance the skin microbiome, shea butter that's very rich and nourishing, niacinamide and glycerin that are all wonderful ingredients to help support your skin barrier. I use it on myself as well as my kids in the shower and when they bathe and it's super gentle, even suitable for babies 2 weeks and older. So just all around a really nice cleanser that you can use for yourself as well as the whole family."

"The lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil is really nice because it's got wonderful hydrating ingredients but foams ever so slightly, so for those individuals who just absolutely need a foaming cleanser in their routine this would be one to consider when switching to for the winter. It can be used on face and body, and that's what I do in the shower. I use it on my kids as well, so it's really truly multi-functional. The light foam really gives you that clean feel but also has really nice nourishing ingredients to help hydrate the skin and not over strip the skin barrier. It contains La Roche-Posay thermal spring water along with shea butter, which helps to smooth down skin and add nourishment to the skin, and glycerin. All wonderful ingredients that really help to support the skin barrier, gets the job done without being overly aggressive."

"I'm pretty darn obsessed with this cleansing oil right now. It really is the only cleanser I've used for probably the last month and I just don't want to move on from it. It's the perfect balance between a hydrating cleanser and it still has a decent amount of lather to it, so I don't feel like it leaves me greasy or oily at all. It's functionally very effective. It's interesting because it doesn't have a strong robust skin oil as the core component, but it is just an oil-based cleanser with surfactants, and anecdotally it's outstanding for drier skin. I feel like this one doesn't feel like your prototypical cleansing oil, and maybe that's why it's going to have a chance, because I'm not the biggest fan of a real creamy cleansing oil where you feel it too much."

"Use a cleansing oil in the shower for optimal hydration. This one from La Roche-Posay, from the Lipikar line, I use in the shower. It just gives another layer of hydration to the skin, and then when you get out within 30 seconds you are putting moisturizer on your skin and you are going to have optimal hydration even through the winter months."

La Roche-Posay 🆕 New! Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil Review
"I was covered in sunscreen and I used this guy and it did a great job and removed it within like one light layer. You can apply it to face or body. They recommend applying a pump of it to damp skin and it foams up really nicely and cleanses really cleanly. It rinses off nicely and doesn't leave your skin feeling dry in the least, which is really nice because lately I've been having to put body lotion on the second I get out of the shower, but this stuff just was amazing. The ingredients in here use some gentle cleansers. They use sodium laureth sulfate, which is different than sodium lauryl sulfate. Sodium laureth sulfate is the gentle version; sodium lauryl sulfate is the one that's kind of irritating for some people. And then it uses cocoa betaine, which is another gentle cleanser. There's also niacinamide, shea butter, and glycerin in there as well."
