"La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo has the active ingredients of benzoyl peroxide and lipohydroxy acid. It's a spot treatment but it can be used all over the face on any acne prone skin. You just put a thin layer and it's great as a reactive treatment to help those pimples that pop up. Conversely, if you actually use it on acne prone skin it is a prophylactic treatment to help prevent acne from popping up. Effaclar Duo combines both salicylic acid, very similar to lipohydroxy acid, with your benzoyl peroxide, going to be incredible for that inflammatory type of acne. Maybe irritating for some people, so people with some drier skin type can be a little bit irritating with both of these ingredients together."

"This is a solid product, only 30 something bucks you can get at your local store like say at Target or Amazon. It's a really nice product to consider to add to your regimen. The only downside would really be if your acne is out of its league, you've got to go see a dermatologist. It's not a magic bullet. If you have deep cystic bumps, that's something you'd need to see a dermatologist for. This is good for superficial acne, but it's a great product. I can see why it went viral because it's good to have a spot treatment in your back pocket, something that makes you feel mentally better. There's a psychological component of having acne, you want things to be sped along and not feel like there's nothing you can do about it. So if you can psychologically feel better by using this and not trying to go at it with your fingers or tools, we win. We're using these really good ingredients to help break up the dead skin cells, kill the bacteria, and hopefully get clearance."
