What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise the serum's soothing and hydrating performance, with dermatologist backing cited as a major endorsement. The core praise centers on calming redness and irritation while sitting well under makeup and around delicate areas. The recurring complaint is the packaging design, which reviewers find messy and wasteful. Opinion splits on texture: some find it beautifully lightweight for a serum, others note it reads richer than expected, though this hasn't deterred enthusiasts from daily use.

"I have a real love-hate relationship with this one. I was late to the game but I'm in love with their products, absolutely love with the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast line in general. The packaging pisses me off every time I use it, it's messy, it's dirty, you waste a lot of product. But I love the results so much and how it soothes and calms and hydrates my skin, reduces that redness on my skin, any irritation soon. Vitamin B5, I think it's panthenol again, yeah, vitamin B5 in here, amazing, amazing. I'm able to look past the packaging purely because of how much my skin loves this. I kind of love the serum more than the moisturizers. The serum for me is kind of like an everyday use thing. I can use morning and evening, fits in perfectly."

"This is the brand new La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum and I love it. I know it's had mixed reviews actually but I really love it. It's a beautiful milky serum, very similar in texture to one of my other favorite ones. I would put this all over, like drench my skin in it, including my eyes, neck, chest, everything in preparation for a retinol or a retinaldehyde."

SPRING SKIN - FIVE FAVOURITES
"It's just an absolute gold standard. I've just come back from the American Academy of Dermatology, most dermatologists love it, I love it. But I don't really like the texture of it, it's quite a rich cream. I love a serum though, and when they create it as a serum version, it was love at first sight. I have flown with it, I've used it since I've got back. I'm using it right up and around my eyes. It sits beautifully under makeup. It's flawless. It might just be my favorite hydrating serum of all time."
