What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise the formula for blending seamlessly without white cast and working well for sensitive skin. The core split centers on coverage: one reviewer uses it as primary SPF protection and loves it, while another finds it too sheer for adequate sunscreen coverage but raves about it as a light, glowy makeup base. Price-to-performance is seen as strong.

"The La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral SPF 50 is a super duper lightweight, gentle mineral sunscreen. It blends really easy without any white cast. It's totally non-comedogenic and it's tested on sensitive skin. It comes in non-tinted and tinted, so if you're somebody who has melasma, tinted might be better for you. The key ingredient here is titanium dioxide. It also has some antioxidants and thermal spring water."

"I picked this one out and I thought L'Oréal Posay, that's not very lux, although in the US this is lux. This is like, because it's the good one, it's the one made in Europe with the good filters. So yeah, so at home this is lux but in, well most people watching this, it doesn't come off as lux."

"La Roche-Posay Anthelios, the second ingredient here is denatured alcohol, the second ingredient, which means it's at a very high percentage. There are no other actives in this product that are going to give you any additional benefits to the skin. It is a chemical sunscreen, which is fine if that was the only thing worth it. The only plus point of this product is that it is fragrance free. For me, this is another note, especially for the price point."

"I cannot wear this as an SPF because I cannot wear enough to get the coverage to wear it as an SPF, but as a makeup I'm going to give it a 5 out of 5. I'm wearing it almost every day now, just a tiny bit, and it looks flawless. It has a nice glow to it. It's a little transferable, but for the price this has become a makeup surprise."
