    What the gurus are saying

This invisible-on-skin fluid wins praise for being so weightless it feels like nothing is there once applied. The chemical filters offer broad-spectrum protection without pilling or greasiness, absorb easily, sit well under makeup, and the fragrance-free formula doesn't sting eyes for most people, making it one of the easiest sunscreens to wear daily. The thoughtful packaging with a small drop opening cuts down on waste.

"I'm fond of La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid, which is SPF 50 and a chemical sunscreen, which is great for oily skin."

"This is a very lightweight non-greasy sunscreen designed for sensitive skin and it's pretty much invisible after you apply it. It's fragrance free, absorbs easily into skin, doesn't clog pores, and sits nicely under makeup. It's just a comfortable daily sunscreen. It's also formulated to not sting eyes and that seems to be true for most people who have reviewed this. The packaging is also really nice with the liquid texture and small drop opening, which means there's less product wastage."

"La Roche-Posay Anthelios Fluid is an oldie but a goodie and a long-standing favorite of mine. It's a chemical sunscreen with tinosorb and a variety of other chemical filters that offer broad-spectrum UVA UVB protection. It's super lightweight and fragrance-free, just a very nice lightweight liquid fluid with no pilling and doesn't look greasy whatsoever. It's probably one of the easiest sunscreens to wear because it goes on and then you completely forget it's even on there. I tolerate it around my eyes just fine with no burny eyes. It's definitely a favorite."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
