What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tested this one found it cuts through buildup and hard water residue without the harshness typical of clarifying shampoos, thanks to a blend of gentle surfactants and moisturizing ingredients like glycine and vitamin C. The salicylic acid exfoliates the scalp gently, and the menthol provides a cooling refresh. Because clarifying shampoos can leave hair dull, the experts suggest following with a conditioner from the same line to restore shine and softness.

"The L'Oreal Paris EverPure sulfate-free clarifying shampoo is completely sulfate-free formula for those who that's important to. It removes all the buildup while remaining really gentler than some of your traditional clarifying shampoos. It's also suitable for color-treated hair. It removes product buildup and hard water exposure to restore strands. It's formulated with antioxidants, vitamin C, and glycine."

"As far as clarifying shampoo, I'm loving this one again from L'Oreal. This is the EverPure clarifying shampoo. This is really really great, it says specifically for hard water exposure. Removes residue and buildup. It has a clarifying complex with glycine and vitamin C. I find it to be very, very cleansing, not in a drying way, which is fantastic. I don't use it every single time I wash my hair, but there are times when I use it like two washes in a row because I have a lot of product in my hair, and even when I do that, I don't find it to be particularly drying in any way. This does contain salicylic acid and benzoic acid. I really like it. I think it's nice and I like the scent of it."

"Why I like this shampoo though is not because it's sulfate-free specifically, but because it gently removes the buildup from hard water, product residue, and excess oils. I've used it and I've loved how it leaves my hair feeling really soft and weightless and refreshed. It also contains menthol in it which is a little bit different from the other shampoos. This provides that immediate cooling sensation to refresh and soothe the scalp. This one also contains citric acid to help rebalance the scalp pH and help you remove that buildup, as well as sodium coco oil isothionate, a gentle surfactant that cleanses without stripping moisture."

"I use the L'Oreal EverPure clarifying shampoo and follow with the conditioner. They're both great. I like to use clarifying shampoos because of the hard water."

"I recently discovered a clarifying shampoo from L'Oreal, L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate-Free Clarifying Shampoo, and I love this. This at the moment is my favorite clarifying shampoo because I used to recommend the Neutrogena anti-residue clarifying shampoo but they discontinued that. This is really good. It does have salicylic acid which can help with exfoliating the scalp a bit, and it effectively cuts down on buildup, but it's not overly drying in comparison to many other clarifying shampoos. It's nicely balanced out with moisturizing ingredients. I do use the conditioner with this because clarifying shampoos are more likely to go all in and can leave the strands a little dull. The scent is really nice, bright, sort of a fruity floral, and it does leave your hair smelling like the shampoo."
