"The L'Occitane Almond Sublime Softening Shower Oil smells like the body cream, but it's an oil that turns into a milk as soon as you put it on so you don't come out feeling oily. It's best applied on dry skin, because if your hands are wet when you're applying it, it starts to emulsify. I love the smell, I've used and loved this for years."

"It smells so good. I've talked about it a million times. It's one of my favorite shower gels. I typically just use the Bioderma one for daily, but I like to use this a couple times a week, especially if I am too lazy to moisturize my whole body because sometimes it happens. And this just leaves your skin feeling so soft and moisturized. It's really really great. And it has a really nice clean almondy scent. I gave it to someone and her literal words were, 'I smell like a rich person when I use this.' It's such a nice thing for the holidays if you're looking to put together a gift bag for someone because the almond scent just makes me think of the holidays."

"It is iconic, it smells divine, it feels amazing on the skin, and every time I use it I wonder why this hasn't been in the shower the whole time. My only complaint is that I need to get a bigger size. I think I found one online somewhere, you know, the big one with the pump, that is my goal."

"The Almond shower oil is the absolute classic if your skin is dry and you want something that's really soothing and calming, that's the one to get."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
