What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently critique Kylie Skin as overpriced with basic, uninspired formulations that lack innovation or scientific merit. The recurring complaint is that flagship products like the moisturizer and toner rely on simple ingredient lists and affordable staples like olive oil, making them uncompetitive against affordable K-Beauty alternatives and even drugstore options. While reviewers note the products weren't inherently bad, they felt like a rushed cash grab that failed to justify premium pricing in an increasingly demanding skincare market.

WTF Happened To Kylie Skin?
"Basic formulations with zero innovation. Two of the most popular products at launch were the face moisturizer and the vanilla milk toner, and you can see both the four ingredient lists here, nothing really stands out. I remember them really trying to push this kiwi thing, like oh it's got kiwi in it. Plenty of critics labeled the brand as just overpriced Instagram skincare with no real science behind it. They felt it was an obvious money grab that Kylie was just rushing out some basic formulas so she can make even more money off her huge following. The products weren't bad but they weren't great."
WTF Happened To Kylie Skin?
"Skincare had already become much more of a demanding space and basic formulas looked like the ordinary not Kylie Skin, and those products just weren't going to cut it. People were also getting into K Beauty, so you had these super affordable but amazing skin care products that Kylie Skin just didn't stand a chance going up against."

"From the beginning of my channel I had a lot of issues with their skincare products. The products are really expensive, I don't remember being impressed with the formulations, and the primary ingredient they use is olive oil, which is like a very common and very inexpensive skincare ingredient."
