What the gurus are saying

Gurus split on this one. One expert sees it as a valid option alongside radio frequency and microneedling for submental fullness, while another found the treatment required many sessions spread over months with substantial swelling that proved difficult to manage day-to-day, and saw no meaningful results after six months of commitment. That downtime and number of visits matter if you're weighing it against other devices that might work faster.

"The problem with Kybella is you need so many things done in my previous experience so many months apart and there is a lot of downtime. Your chin swells up massive like a frog. It's really not easy to hide. After 6 months I had no results from it, so it's not something I will do again. I'm pretty sure there are better alternatives nowadays but it's just not something that I will ever have done again."

"We can inject Kybella or you can get radio frequency, microneedling, or other devices to help with that area, the submental or under the chin excess of skin or fat."
