    What the gurus are saying

This tinted mineral sunscreen earns praise for its sheer, beautiful finish that doesn't look heavy or settle into wrinkles, a rare achievement for cosmetically elegant tinted sunscreens. It works across different skin types without over-drying or leaving an oily feel. The formula includes antioxidants that support your skin barrier, and reviewers compare its cosmetic elegance to pricier options like Tatcha while costing significantly less.

Best Skincare of 2025 for Mature Skin!
"It's a really lightweight, fluid lotion. It's really beautiful. It goes on the skin, just glides on, dries and sets really quickly. If you've been searching for a mineral sunscreen that isn't greasy, isn't heavy, doesn't leave a white cast, definitely give the Kopari a try. It works great under makeup. I was really thrilled with this one."
SEPHORA HOLIDAY SALE STARTS TODAY!! My Top Picks
"You guys know I do my mineral sunscreen testing video every year and the winner this year was the Kopari Bright as Day SPF 50 sheer mineral sunscreen. This is a beautiful mineral sunscreen. It beat out 30 other sunscreens to be the winner. And you guys know how picky I am. This is fantastic. And it goes on the skin so beautifully. It is tinted, but it's not like a super makeupy tint. It rubs into the skin really, really beautifully. The tint hides any white cast from the mineral sunscreens. This dries and sets really, really quickly. You can use this one as your makeup. This one can be interchangeable with something like the Merit. This is going to be lighter weight even than the Merit. It does contain a chemical sunscreen booster, which some people might not be into. It gives you a nice lit from within glow. It evens out your skin tone. It's really easy to wear. It's really easy to reapply. So, it's a great sunscreen."
I Tried $750 of Mineral SUNSCREENS So You Don't Have To! NEW 2025
"It's not heavily pigmented, so it doesn't look like makeup sitting on your skin. It evens out the skin tone slightly, giving a warm glow. It glides over the skin easily. It feels lightweight and not greasy. It dries and sets really, really quickly. It has a softly luminous but not shiny finish. It looks so natural on the skin. It is a gorgeous put it on and go sunscreen. No fussing with it. No need to powder it. It doesn't feel greasy. It feels dry and set. It doesn't settle into wrinkles. With makeup, foundation goes on beautifully over this sunscreen. It looks super smooth and it made my pores look really smooth and smoothed over all of my texture. It had minimal settling into wrinkles. At the 4-hour check-in, the makeup look almost just applied. It's not worn off anywhere. There is minimal settling into wrinkles, but it is starting to be a little less smoothing with a little bit of texture between my eyebrows showing up a little bit more. At eight hours, the makeup is still in place. From a coverage perspective, it looks just applied. It was comfortable to wear all day. It didn't feel drying at all. It didn't make my skin sting. So, overall, I thought it was great. I gave it a five out of five as a standalone sunscreen and a five out of five under makeup because it was so smoothing and it looked so perfect for probably seven out of the eight hours of the day."

"The new Kopari Bright as Day Sheer Mineral Sunscreen reminds me a lot of the Tatcha in the way that it sits on my skin without feeling too drying. It does have an illuminating finish as a heads up, but I really am happy with how it feels. It's a non-drying formula in spite of having an astringent ingredient in it."

New Skincare Releases May 2024: We Are STILL Having Packaging Flaws!!
"I've been wearing this sunscreen with no foundation and no tint underneath. When I first pumped it out I noticed it was tinted, and tinted sunscreens usually go one of two ways, either it works like a foundation you can only apply a tiny bit of, or it's a universal tint that ends up too orange and too deep on everyone. This one feels like the closest thing to the Tatcha sunscreen I've tried, without that sixty five dollar price tag. It's a cosmetically elegant formula that actually seems universal and has a high UV protection rating, and it has a long list of unique antioxidants that help support and boost the skin's barrier. It's simply a beautiful formula. My only question is that I don't see it on the Ulta website yet, only on their direct site, so I'm hoping it comes to Ulta."

"This is a tinted one, and I tend to like it when it's mineral and it's got a tint to it because it kind of evens my skin out sometimes, so on a casual day I don't feel the need to put foundation on. I'm really trying to focus on being liberal in my application because I know I have a tendency to slack on that. I've done so much throughout the winter to get my skin brightened up, so I don't want to ruin it all in a short summer. So far so good with this one. There's no scent in it, which is nice because they came out with two other products and those all had a lot of fragrance in them."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

    Source: DermNet

    Urea

Urea both holds water in the skin and gently loosens dead surface cells. At higher strengths it has good evidence for very dry or thickened skin.

    Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.
