"I really wanted to try this because melasyl is an ingredient L'Oreal has come out with, backed by a lot of research, and it shows a lot of promise for hyperpigmentation and melasma because it gets in the way of some of the melanin precursors. This has both melasyl and niacinamide, so if you get along with niacinamide it's fantastic for hyperpigmentation. It's a chemical sunscreen that comes out kind of peachy in coloration but goes on with no white cast or chalkiness. I love that it's fragrance-free, in contrast to the La Roche-Posay version of this, which has a strong fragrance that I find offensive and that lingers. But this one is even more expensive than the La Roche-Posay version, which I find annoying, and it does not need to be as expensive as it is."

It's going to help even out your skin tone and minimize hyperpigmentation. It's a sunscreen that helps with minimizing hyperpigmentation, there's no white cast, and it's 50 bucks."

"This is one of the newest products, the Kiehl's Autotone discoloration and UV solution, and it's SPF 30. What it has is this new ingredient called Meliso that was developed by L'Oréal, and they have tried to revamp the way we attack hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation involves too much melanin being produced. We have tyrosinase inhibitors, tyrosinase being an enzyme that creates melanin. If we block that enzyme, we hope to make less melanin and less dark spots. Instead of targeting that enzyme, Meliso looks at the byproducts that come together to make melanin. We're going to deactivate them so that they don't come together like building blocks to make melanin. I like this one a lot. I've been using this a lot on my way into the office. There's no tint to it, it does have a little nice color to it, but it is a nice moisturizer with SPF for sure. I like efficient skin care, so you're attacking the melanin hyperpigmentation as well as protecting yourself from UVA and UVB."
