    What the gurus are saying

Those who tested it praise the texture, which feels buttery and whipped without heaviness, and say it hydrates while maintaining a balanced feel on skin. One tester with sensitive neck skin found it gentle and tolerable, while another noted it helped with brightening and post-breakout marks and works well under sunscreen and makeup. "There is just a little bit for my neck, no scent to it. If my neck tolerates this it's amazing because my neck is super sensitive. It feels nice. I like it."

"This is the KAINE Vegan Collagen Youth Cream and OMG I'm obsessed with the texture because it's buttery and moisturizing but also hydrating. I really like that but it's not heavy, it actually has this like airy, almost whipped texture to it while still maintaining a lot of richness. This brings a lot of the balance that my skin is craving in a cream: a good amount of moisture but not a lot of thickness. I do like that this actually offers a little bit of a glow. This cream does offer a really nice base for sunscreen and makeup. It's also been really helping with brightening and hyperpigmentation after some breakouts, and I love that it's all in one, multiple benefits in one product."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

    Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
