What they liked

  • Smooth stick texture, easy to apply
  • Works over makeup as a refresher
  • Gentle enough for sensitive or irritated skin

What they flagged

  • Fragrance in some versions
  • Too occlusive for oily or combination skin
  • Sticky before makeup, needs restraint

What the gurus are saying

This balm works as a gentle slugging product that hydrates without clogging pores, and its texture makes it versatile enough for makeup touch-ups and lip care. The one thing to keep in mind is that it contains fragrance, so anyone sensitive to scent or who avoids fragrance in skincare may want to pass on this one. Those with reactive or easily irritated skin found it soothed without triggering flare-ups.

"Kahi Bomb, the original stick balm, is super smooth with a big lip balm texture, perfect for dry, mature 50 plus skin. It even works over makeup like a natural highlighter and it didn't peel on me at all. But it is an oil, so use it with a little caution."

"This is basically just a big lip balm that was all over the ads a few years ago. If you are dry, mature skin over forty and want something for winter, it is okay, but if you are from a tropical country with oily or combination skin you will hate this. The one great thing is that it is convenient, you can carry it around and do not have to make your hands wet, you just put it on whatever anti-aging area you want. But before you put on makeup you have to control the amount because it is sticky. It is better than nothing, but the glow sinks into your skin and disappears."

"This stick balm from Kahi isn't too big, it looks just like a deodorant stick. It feels like oil but not too much, has no scent, and is easy and wide to apply, which makes it better for lazy people. I wouldn't recommend putting on too much before makeup though, because it's still oil."

"This is from a Korean brand called Kahi and this balm, they describe it as like a mild Vaseline. I put it on the side where I had tear burning my skin and it felt really good. They call this a multi balm because you can use this for a gazillion things. When I was in Korea recently the makeup artist used it to refresh my makeup. I would also assume that you could use it on the lips."

"I absolutely love this product and love both of these products. The way that I love to slug the correct way or in a way that doesn't clog your pore or doesn't upset your skin is by using the Kahi Wrinkle Bounce Multi Balm."

"This has a ton of peptides in it as well as a bunch of good moisturizing agents, really good ingredient list. It's got so many antioxidant ingredients like licorice fruit extract, Moringa seed oil, turmeric. I will say I don't love that it's in a balm. I would prefer that it's in like a moisturizer. I feel like if it was the same ingredient list but had a moisturizer consistency rather than a balm I would be more inclined to use it, but this is pretty good formula. I would definitely be down to try this, so I'd say smash based off the ingredient list alone."

"This is the Kahi Soul Wrinkle Bounce Multi-Balm, popularized because a Korean actress was seen using it. I thought it looked like a nice emollient, lubricating stick, maybe like the Vaseline stick, but it smells not good, it is heavily heavily scented in a scent that lingers on the skin. It just puts out a stiff oily lubricant, it's not hydrating, it doesn't even give a gloss. You can use it on your lips but it doesn't end up making the lips very moisturized or hydrated. That scent lingers, it makes the skin look greasy and shiny wherever you put it. It pales in comparison to the Vaseline stick balm in terms of delivering results. The only reason to buy this is if you want to look cool holding it up."

"The Kahi Wrinkle Bounce Multi Balm became huge several years ago, it was good, though it was also pushed through K-dramas with pretty unnatural product placement, and it then traveled internationally, they did an eye cream stick and a sunscreen stick off the back of it too."

Pore, Fine Line & Wrinkle Care Product FAVESSSSS!
"One of my most used Kahi products has to be the Wrinkle Bounce Multi Balm, mainly because it's a multi balm so you can use it around your eyes and everywhere. It's a stick balm that's made to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, increase elasticity, moisture and hydration. The key ingredients are their salmon complex, which is a mix of salmon collagen, salmon DNA and salmon proteoglycans. The salmon collagen is sustainably sourced and we all know that collagen is really great at moisturizing the skin and keeping it hydrated, which are two really important factors that help kind of temporarily lessen the appearance of fine lines, but it's also a really great preventative measure for wrinkles. It keeps my skin plumped out, and it's really easy to use. I like to do my eyes first and then my smile lines, and this keeps me very nicely plumped out. I use this in the evening and I'm good with that concentrated hydration and moisture in all the key areas where I feel wrinkles and fine lines are starting to make an appearance."

"As a final step I use my Kahi Bounce Balm. I love these stick balms from Kahi. I apply this to areas where my skin needs extra care, around my eyes, in my frown lines, my wrinkles, smile lines, my neck, tech neck, wherever I feel my skin needs that creamy layer and a bit of plumping out. This is where I'll use my Kahi balm. I absolutely love it. Then I'll go to bed not feeling sticky but feeling nicely nourished, moisturized, and hydrated."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
