    What the gurus are saying

This eye cream absorbs fast and leaves the under-eye visibly plump and hydrated. The 4% retinal works more quickly than standard retinol to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It's best for those with experience using retinoids or who know their skin isn't sensitive; those new to retinoids should approach it slowly, since retinal is significantly more potent than regular retinol.

"This is the K-Secret eye cream. It has soy bean and fermented bean extract and some retinal in it, but I didn't feel it was that spicy. The texture is pretty thick, thicker than a classic eye cream, but it spreads so well and I feel really comfortable using it, it reminds me of my favorite eye cream from Sana, an affordable Japanese brand. I also like the packaging because you can apply it more precisely, it's easy to apply, so I'm giving this an A tier."

"This is a high potency eye cream that's going to snatch the under eye, minimize fine lines and wrinkles and smooth everything out. I adore it. What I think is great is if you're someone that's using a lower potency retinol eye cream but you want a higher potency option, go for this in the 4%. This is double the strength, and so definitely packs a punch. I like the fact that we now have different strengths when it comes to eye products. Because I'm an established retinoid user I went straight in for the higher strength which is fine. Do what works for your individual skin. My caveat is to say if you've got very sensitive skin, particularly sensitive under eyes, this might be too strong. So you might want to go for one of the lower strength options. For us established retinoid users that want maximum anti-aging, I love that we now have this."

"If you want a retinal strength to something just a bit more powerful but still gentle around this area, then this would be a great option. The textures are really silky, sort of like a creamish gel. There's the telltale yellow retinal color but in my experience the color doesn't stay visible. It's got this hydrating gel-like consistency and it absorbs really fast, leaving the skin around the eye area actually quite plump and hydrated. This is great year round, but if the skin around your eyes gets really dry and crinkly in the winter time then you may need something over it. I've been using this around my eyes and so far it's been great. This formula is kind of a well-aging powerhouse. I mean it's got all the heroes: it's got the vitamin A, it's got vitamin C, vitamin E, bakuchiol, three different peptides, there's also a complex of five roots as well as a complex of ferments. Because this is 0.04%, I would recommend a phasing period or you can start off by just applying it over your regular eye cream."

"The K-Secret Soul 1988 retinal liposome eye cream has been one of my favorite eye creams to use this year. Retinal is similar to retinol but it can actually be faster acting and effective and it gives all those incredible benefits that retinol gives, so if you have dark circles or you're starting to see fine lines and premature aging on your under eye area, this is the eye cream that would be able to target it. It has a bunch of other great ingredients for targeting those concerns as well like niacinamide, ginseng extract, as well as other hydrating ingredients like ferment filtrates and macadamia nut seed oil. What I love about this one is that it's a really nice lightweight gel. So many times when it comes to anti-aging eye creams they can tend to be very thick and heavy, which just leads to a lot of shininess for the under eye area, which if you're like me who has dark circles and texture under the eyes, it kind of accentuates it. But this one is a very nice lightweight gel, so easy to apply, fast absorbing, and with power-packed ingredients that are going to target those dark circles or premature aging. I will say retinal can be stronger and more irritating than traditional retinol, so if you're someone who has ultra sensitive skin I would say be careful with this one because it definitely is a power-pack formula. However, really good elegant experience."

"The formula is very similar to the Beauty of Joseon Retinol Eye Cream, which has 2% liposomal retinol. So this one is like a stronger version. Both of these are designed to be eye creams and are mostly tested for fine lines around the eyes, but you can use them all over your face and you don't really need to use that much. This is a really good product if you are more experienced with retinoids or if your skin is just really not sensitive to them. If you're introducing a retinol to your routine, I'd highly recommend adding it to your routine slowly. For example, use it twice a week at night at first and then slowly ramp up. I'd also recommend using it on dry skin and using it with moisturizer and getting rid of any irritating products in your routine while you're starting on it. If your skin is a bit more sensitive or you're very new to retinoids, I'd recommend their other versions first. They have a 1% and a 2% which also use liposomal retinol. Another thing I really appreciate about this is that it has a nice nozzle that makes it very easy to control how much you're dispensing. This nozzle just makes it so easy to control how much actually gets dispensed. It really cuts down on the risk of having a super inflamed face 2 days after you've tried a retinol."
