"Another foundation that I really didn't get on with that went super, super viral for just how great it wasn't is the Jones Road What the Foundation. The only way I know how to describe this foundation is it's kind of one you had to tiptoe around when it comes to application method, right? So I was trying to tap with fingers very delicately. I was trying to think, you know, it's a makeup artist brand, what would a makeup artist do to make this work. Then I was using brushes, and I was using all this other stuff. A few things didn't work in this right. The finish, in general, really gripped to the texture on my skin. Considering it was made for a maturer skin with perhaps a bit more skin texture, it just didn't sit or grip well. The finish was so not glowy, but this oily natural that I looked terrible. I looked awful with this foundation. It's another one of those foundations that I can see working for a particular group of people. But another one where I also think, why should I have to work this hard to try and get a foundation to work for me?"

"The first thing I notice about it is the smell—it's got a very, very strong, half medicinal, half floral scent. It feels so greasy and so sticky. This definitely feels oily, kind of greasy going on. It doesn't seem to be going on super evenly. It's giving me very, very little coverage. A lot of shine just accentuates my pores and texture. The foundation still hasn't dried or set after 40 minutes and still feels tacky on most of my face. I don't like how it feels, I don't like how it smells, I don't like how sticky it is. That everything just sticks to it. It's a very short-wearing foundation that doesn't give you much coverage to start with, looks shiny and greasy, and never sets back. The key is in the ingredients—there's like four or five different oils in here and three or four different waxes, so this is not going to dry and set down because it's got so many oils and so many waxes, and that just makes it feel heavier, waxier, and oilier on the skin. I would do any of these before I would reach for this one again. Between the heavy greasy feeling, the lack of coverage, the lack of wear, the strong fragrance, definitely will not be reaching for this again."

"That's about how I feel about it, What the Foundation. I know a few people wrote in who said that they absolutely love it and they tended to be people with really really dry skin. I have combo skin so anything that feels greasy makes me look greasy and it's not going to be a fave for me. This felt greasy and oily looking all day. The wear was very very short. It gave very little coverage. It is very very fragranced. It contains like four different oils and at least two maybe three different waxes, so for me that's just not the kind of stuff that I would make a foundation out of. Unfortunately, this just was a no for me."
