What the gurus are saying

Gurus are sharply divided on this product. Critics find it uncomfortably heavy, tacky, and difficult to use, comparing it to Vaseline and complaining it sits visibly on skin rather than blending; the learning curve and fragrance are cited as drawbacks. Advocates love it specifically for mature or very dry skin, praising its emollient-rich formula as a hydrating under-eye treatment and subtle highlighter that keeps skin plump throughout the day. The split hinges on whether the thick, occlusive texture feels luxurious or unworkable.

"The Jones Road Miracle Balm was a miracle bust for me. I have tried and tried and tried and I just can't get it to work. It feels so heavy on my skin. It never sinks into my skin, it never looks natural. Even the little bit that I use, I can feel it on my skin. It's just not a texture that I enjoy. I think it's more the sheen of the fact that this is more of a petroleum-type product as opposed to the actual pigment in the formula. So unfortunately the Jones Road Miracle Balm was a miracle bust for me."

10 Most Popular Skin Tints of 2024 for Mature Skin! (Reviewed & Ranked)
"I actually did not find it easy to use. I didn't really know how much to use, I didn't really know how the product was going to perform, I didn't know which color to choose. It actually requires some education and it's not an intuitive product. The tub is massive and I will never go through this product given how little you're supposed to use to get the effect that is recommended. As far as texture, it's not lightweight, it feels like Vaseline on the skin. As far as skincare ingredients, it's mostly emollients and some perfuming ingredients. Nothing really stands out as a good skincare ingredient."
Slugging CASTOR OIL for Dry Skin! (30 Day Trial On My 58 Year Old Face)
"It's in the Jones Road Miracle Balm. It's actually in one of my favorite lip masks these days, this is the Pudding by Fenty. I love this, and actually when I put it on I was like this seems a lot like castor oil and I looked it up, castor oil was the third ingredient."
I Slugged Nightly With CASTER OIL For 30 Days at 58 Years Old
"Castor oil is an emollient and an occlusive. It's in many cosmetic products that we use. It's in the Jones Road Miracle Balm."

"Jones Road Miracle Balm, take me out and shoot me now. I don't, it's the most disgusting product ever created. I just don't get it. Why would you put something thick and tacky on your face where your hair goes like this and you have to peel it off? I don't know anyone who uses it more than once."

"I like the Miracle Balm simply as a highlighter. Using this as that I think it's fine, but of the highlighters that I own it's never going to be the first highlighter that I reach for. There are highlighters that I like much much better than this because they actually dry down and they look better on my skin. This also is very heavily fragranced and I don't really like things with a strong fragrance."

"This is my little miracle product, it's literally in the name. This is by Jones Road, it is Miracle Balm. This is kind of a love-hate product, not everybody loves these, I do. I have them in loads of different colors and I'll tell you why: they are so rich in oils that are so good for mature skin. I have been experiencing some very intense dryness because of a device that I use that just made the area under here severely dry and I'm still combating it, so I use this little miracle balm as the last step in my makeup because I almost think it's more skincare than makeup. I put this right underneath my eyes and it keeps my eyes moisturized all freaking day. If I need to do it anywhere else, this is a lovely little highlighter. It has the nicest little sheen and throughout the day it's nice and it's juicy and it's bouncy. If you need a little extra something, this is the guy for you."
