Beta-Glucan 3X Barrier Cream.

"This cream seals in long-lasting moisture while strengthening the skin barrier with hydrating ingredients like beta glucan, ectoin, and panthenol. It feels instantly plumping and hydrating, quickly helps with creepiness around the eyes and plumps skin up pretty quickly. The texture is thick, almost yogurt-like, and feels shiny when first applied but takes about 20 to 30 seconds to absorb and sets to a natural slightly matte finish. It feels tacky and silky at the same time. It works well more as a night cream than a day cream, but if your skin is really dry it works well in the daytime. It works nicely under most sunscreens, though it can cause a little bit of pilling with very thick mineral sunscreens. The ingredient list is nice with a good core, including panthenol for soothing, niacinamide for brightening, shea butter, beta glucan which is soothing, hydrating, wound healing and anti-aging, macadamia nut oil, ectoin which is soothing, hydrating, pollution and light protecting with anti-aging benefits, ceramide and phytosphingosine for barrier repair, moringa seed oil, and vitamin E as an antioxidant. For acne-prone skin there are a few ingredients of note including cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, stearyl alcohol, and vitamin E, but the fatty alcohols are not terribly comedogenic. The cream delivers on all of the brand's promises to enhance skin moisture, strengthen the skin barrier, soothe, hydrate, repair, and protect sensitive skin. At 16 dollars for 1.69 oz it is pretty darn affordable. The only downside is the jar packaging, as the reviewer prefers airless jars. The product is vegan and cruelty-free."

"This is a fairly newer release from iUNIK, and it's not a replacement for, but an addition to the beta glucan moisturizer that has been out for a long time. This is a little bit more moisturizing and a little bit more occlusive. The texture is great. It has an ointment-like or occlusive finish, but it spreads very thin, so it just creates this nice layer of moisturization and protective occlusion. That's really good if you have dehydrated skin, but it's not a thick, heavy, rich, buttery cream texture. It actually absorbs and dries into a semi velvety finish. It's very smooth, very light but protective. It's not overwhelming, it's not sticky, it's not overly greasy, but it's really going to lock in all of those layers of hydration. Even though it dries to a matte or velvety finish rather than wet, it actually just kind of locks in that glow."
