What the gurus are saying

Gurus overwhelmingly praise this as an exceptionally gentle, hydrating cleanser ideal for sensitive or compromised skin. The texture (creamy, slippery, and non-foaming) is consistently called soothing and comforting. Most note it excels at removing everyday dirt, oil, and light makeup, though heavy makeup typically requires a pre-cleanse with oil or balm. A few reviewers needed a warm-up period before fully clicking with it, and stubborn eye makeup occasionally frustrates, but the consensus is that it cleanses effectively without stripping, leaving skin soft and balanced rather than tight or dry.

"You just want to smooth it on your skin for about 30 to 60 seconds and then rinse it off. It removes makeup, everything else. For ingredients, we've got sunflower seed oil, yam root, sweet almond extract, and rice extract. No fragrance. It's a really nice, gentle cleanser. Leaves your skin feeling soft, hydrated, plump, not feeling dry or irritated."

K-Beauty Cleansers - Which One is Best for You? One for Every Skin Type
"It took me a while to warm up to the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. I really didn't like it the first few weeks I tried it, but now I really grew to love it and I end up using a lot and it's almost empty. I really do enjoy this one, and sometimes if there's days where I've used sunscreen like on my arms or legs before I get in the shower I just smooth this on and use it and it does the trick for that too. So it does a nice job cleansing as well as removing a lot of sunscreen. I struggle sometimes with stubborn eye makeup, but overall it's pretty effective and efficient."

"This is the Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. This is a really easy to use cream cleanser. I like cream cleansers. I feel like sometimes we think we need to strip our skin when we get clogged pores, but sometimes I feel like it's the opposite. We need to nourish our skin. It's really nice and gentle. One of the main ingredients in here is actually sunflower seed oil. So linoleic acid rich oil helps to unclog the pores, nourishes your skin at the same time. It's just a really good one. So highly recommend it. You could actually use this as your first and your second cleanse, like put it on to dry skin first and then go in a second time on wet skin. And I bet you it would take off a decent amount of glam. Like if you had full-blown glam, maybe not, but light sunscreen, tinted sunscreen, that kind of a stitch, better do the job."

"I discovered and have continued to use off and on their Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. Oh my gosh, milky, creamy, it's almost like it comes out like a lightweight lotion, and as you glide it over the surface of the skin it's got this slippery, comforting texture like it's giving your face, your cheeks a little hug. If they are irritated, dry, rashy, and everything stings and burns, this is going to be a welcoming experience for you. Yam root, Japanese yam root to be more specific, in this formula offers hydrating, humectant-rich ingredients along with anti-inflammatory compounds that, in my opinion, is part of what gives this formula that nice slippery, hydrating feel. It's a really creamy, lightweight lather. Now, if you're wearing heavy makeup you're going to want to use an oil cleanser or a cleansing balm or some sort of makeup remover first because it's super gentle, but it's effective at removing dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin surface. Then it rinses off smoothly. It leaves the skin soft, smooth, hydrated, and clean. Highly recommend. Isntree does not disappoint."

Double Cleansing: Everything You Need To Know
"This cleanser I've really been enjoying. It's such a pleasurable sensory experience, but it's also very effective while not leaving your skin tight and dry. It's a great option if you have really sensitive skin. If you have rosacea and you really battle finding a cleanser that doesn't burn, this is one to consider because it's very mild and it's almost like a hug for your face."

"This is the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser, and this is a true milk cleanser. It does have that more moisturizing creamy texture to it. It's been infused with a lot of different plant oils that really help to nourish the skin. It doesn't foam up at all, which is what really helps it to be very gentle and respectful on the skin, but it does still clean the skin really gently and nicely. When you rinse it away, you don't have an oily film on your skin, but your skin's not feeling dry and tight either. This one will leave a gentle layer on your skin after you've rinsed it away. It's not too filmy, but it just kind of goes into all the dry areas and sorts of fills it in with this light kiss of moisture, making your skin feel really balanced and moisturized."
