What the gurus are saying

This cleanser's creamy, slippery texture and complete absence of foam earn consistent praise for deeply soothing irritated and sensitive skin without stripping or leaving it tight and dry. The sunflower seed oil helps unclog pores while nourishing at the same time, and the yam root adds hydrating and anti-inflammatory support that gurus describe as almost comforting to apply. For heavy makeup removal, pair it with an oil cleanser or balm first, but it handles everyday sunscreen and light coverage well as a second cleanse or standalone wash for those with reactive or inflamed skin.

"This is the new foamy version of the Isntree yam root cleanser. It felt nice going on, a little frothy with some foam, and my skin felt nice afterward, not tight at all. It has hyaluronic acid, ceramides, yam root, and rice powder in it, and it's pretty gentle. It left my skin a touch squeaky clean, but not terribly squeaky clean. This cleanser seems pretty nice, I'd say it's probably more oily skin friendly."

New Skincare For May
"I really like their vegan yam root cleanser. It feels really nice. This one looks like it's supposed to be a little bit more creamy, more hydrating. It's got yam root, gluconolactone, ceramides, panthenol, rice extract. Looks really interesting. So I'm definitely I love Isntree. They have some great stuff, so I'd definitely be ordering that."

"You just want to smooth it on your skin for about 30 to 60 seconds and then rinse it off. It removes makeup, everything else. For ingredients, we've got sunflower seed oil, yam root, sweet almond extract, and rice extract. No fragrance. It's a really nice, gentle cleanser. Leaves your skin feeling soft, hydrated, plump, not feeling dry or irritated."

"This one's 19 bucks. It's very gentle, no foam. You apply it to dry skin. So it's meant to be kind of like a makeup remover type thing. I actually in the summer I use this one a lot on my body to remove like sunscreen or like if I put any thick moisturizer on or whatever, sunscreen typically it does a nice job without drying the skin. So it's really nice for sensitive skin and dry skin types and it's great for a morning cleanser as well."

"I'm going to start out with the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser which is really nice and light and non drying. I don't like to use too strong of cleansers in the morning. My skin tends to be pretty dry. I typically use it on dry skin but you don't necessarily have to."

"It took me a while to warm up to the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. I really didn't like it the first few weeks I tried it, but now I really grew to love it and I end up using a lot and it's [...] almost empty. I really do enjoy this one, and sometimes if there's days where I've used sunscreen like on my arms or legs before I get in the shower I just smooth this on and use it and it does the trick for that too. So it does a nice job cleansing as well as removing a lot of sunscreen. I struggle sometimes with stubborn eye makeup, but overall it's pretty effective and efficient."

"I love this stuff. Actually, I use this more on my body in the summer, especially on days I use sunscreen on my neck and shoulders and things like that. That's a really nice fast, efficient, fragrance-free cleanser that does a pretty good job removing body sunscreens and it's a great face cleanser as well and no scent to it. Really nice product. Can't go wrong with that."

"I like about this is it's really nice and light so you can use it to rinse off makeup and sunscreen and I really like using this. It's got a pump on it so I like keeping this in the shower especially during the summer when I use more sunscreen all over my body because it does a pretty darn good job of washing that all off. It has no scent to it, it's very light and it does a pretty good job removing everything. If you haven't tried it, it's well worth checking this line out from Isntree. They've done a really nice job with it."

"This is the Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. This is a really easy to use cream cleanser. I like cream cleansers. I feel like sometimes we think we need to strip our skin when we get clogged pores, but sometimes I feel like it's the opposite. We need to nourish our skin. It's really nice and gentle. One of the main ingredients in here is actually sunflower seed oil. So linoleic acid rich oil helps to unclog the pores, nourishes your skin at the same time. It's just a really good one. So highly recommend it. You could actually use this as your first and your second cleanse, like put it on to dry skin first and then go in a second time on wet skin. And I bet you it would take off a decent amount of glam. Like if you had full-blown glam, maybe not, but light sunscreen, tinted sunscreen, that kind of a stitch, better do the job."

Top Korean Skincare Products To Save Your Dry Skin
"I discovered and have continued to use off and on their Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. Oh my gosh, milky, creamy, it's almost like it comes out like a lightweight lotion, and as you glide it over the surface of the skin it's got this slippery, comforting texture like it's giving your face, your cheeks a little hug. If they are irritated, dry, rashy, and everything stings and burns, this is going to be a welcoming experience for you. Yam root, Japanese yam root to be more specific, in this formula offers hydrating, humectant-rich ingredients along with anti-inflammatory compounds that, in my opinion, is part of what gives this formula that nice slippery, hydrating feel. It's a really creamy, lightweight lather. Now, if you're wearing heavy makeup you're going to want to use an oil cleanser or a cleansing balm or some sort of makeup remover first because it's super gentle, but it's effective at removing dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin surface. Then it rinses off smoothly. It leaves the skin soft, smooth, hydrated, and clean. Highly recommend. Isntree does not disappoint."

TONS OF SKINCARE EMPTIES!
"The Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser, oh my gosh, it feels like this little slippery, slimy, cooling, milky hug on your face, and it works up into a very mild creamy lather. This is one of the best cleansers I have encountered for extremely sensitive skin. I always used it as a second step in a double cleanse. Really, really enjoy the creamy texture, it really does feel like you're getting this nice little barrier supporting hug. Yam root, rich and hydrating compounds as well as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds. So this for me was one of my all-time favorite cleansers that I tried out in 2023. I definitely would repurchase this. If you were in the market for a really mild, gentle cleanser that is also a pleasurable experience to use, with no fragrance, try this one out."
✨Best Cleansers Of 2023 ✨
"This next cleanser is a great one to consider because it is so mild and it's also very nourishing. In my experience I like it because it's very pleasurable to use. It has this nice slippery soothing texture which I rather enjoy. It's the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Cleanser, free of fragrance. It has yam root extract in it which root extracts are rich in hydrating compounds, they are rich in anti-inflammatory compounds. This has rice extract which has anti-inflammatory compounds, peptides that may help with moisture retention, and it has oat milk extract. Oats are wonderful for the skin, hydrating, rich in anti-inflammatory compounds, avenanthramides which can help with recovery of the skin barrier. Oats can also help create this hydrating film on the skin that really helps facilitate barrier recovery. Very mild, very gentle, easy around the eyes. By itself probably not going to take off your eye makeup, probably not going to take off a lot of cosmetics, it's going to require more effort."
Double Cleansing: Everything You Need To Know
"This cleanser I've really been enjoying. It's such a pleasurable sensory experience, but it's also very effective while not leaving your skin tight and dry. It's a great option if you have really sensitive skin. If you have rosacea and you really battle finding a cleanser that doesn't burn, this is one to consider because it's very mild and it's almost like a hug for your face."
Best Korean Skincare Products Of The Year
"I think a lot of what I liked about this cleanser is not only its efficacy but the sensory experience of using it. A lot of what motivates people to continue with a skincare product does come down to the experience, the feelings that they have around using it. So this cleanser, the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser, oh my goodness, it's a fragrance free, very mild, milky, silky cleanser that feels very slippery and like it's nourishing your skin barrier. It feels like it is very gently and precisely removing dirt and impurities from the skin surface but depositing behind nourishing, hydrating love for the skin barrier. It's super mild, a great option if you are someone who has very sensitive skin, rosacea, or you're developing a lot of irritation from something. You know you need to cleanse but it's a slippery slope with cleansers, you need cleansing to remove impurities from the skin surface that will further aggravate dry, irritated skin problems, but you also don't want a cleanser that's going to be too harsh, strip your skin's moisture barrier, or burn and sting when you apply it to sensitive skin. This is a great option. It has this kind of slippery feel to it which you might not actually like, it's something I enjoyed using and really like a lot myself, but you may not care for that. In addition to rice extract, this has yam root extract."

20 Isntree Products, RANKED: My Favorite K-Beauty Brand!
"One of my absolute favorite cleansers I have ever tried in my life is the yam root cleanser, this is exactly what my dry skin needs. I know not everybody will like this, it is a completely non-foaming cleanser, which can be jarring to switch to. It actually feels like washing your face with moisturizer, if you apply this to dry skin it kind of starts sinking in, so I actually prefer to apply this to damp skin. It's such a non-irritating cleanser, it almost does feel like it moisturizes my skin while I'm cleansing. You may not like this at all if you have oily skin, but does it stand out, absolutely."
Best Cleansers for Dry Skin! | 2023 Best Skincare Products
"The ISNTREE Yam Root Cleanser is my pick for the best cleanser for sensitive dry skin. It's a milk cleanser, so when you pump it out it looks just like moisturizer, it almost feels like a moisturizer in the cleansing experience, you can almost feel it absorbing into your skin, and that's why I feel this is going to be even better for those of you that are sensitive, because it is probably the most gentle cleanser I've ever come across. The main difference from a standard non foaming cleanser is that this feels like a completely different cleansing experience, and from reading through reviews and comments I think this can be a little jarring for some people, you expect cleansing to feel a certain way and this just does not feel like it. But if you're used to milky or creamy cleansers, ISNTREE nailed it with this release, it is absolutely wonderful for very sensitive dry skin."

"Let's flip the script a little bit and talk about something that doesn't foam up at all, that actually contains oil content and gives us a milky, silky, creamy texture. That's going to be the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser. For me, oh my gosh, look at this beauty, this milky, creamy, silky, luxurious, rich, nourishing, comforting texture. This is truly the most luxurious milk cleanser I think I've ever tried. This feels amazing on the skin. What an experience. A true milk cleanser just spreads so beautifully on the skin. It offers that moisturization and that nourishment. It's actually quite soothing if you have that dry irritation on your skin, because yes, the moisture feels very comforting, but the fact that they don't foam up on the skin and they don't contain those harsh surfactants is really critical when your skin is very sensitive or irritated and inflamed, because those types of ingredients, while great on healthy and strong skin and can really give you a nice cleansing experience, they can actually really irritate your skin when it's already weak and damaged. Those surfactants can kind of do a number on your skin. So that's why sometimes when your skin is in that state, you don't even want to wash your face, because it can be such a harsh process. And so using products like this that don't foam up on the skin can be a really smart move. Plus, the moisture that they bring can bring a lot of soothing to the skin. They can help to reduce the inflammation and the redness on the skin as well. It's not just about treating dryness necessarily."

Tips for Using Tretinoin in Winter | AD ft Dermatica
"This is the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser, and this is a true milk cleanser. It does have that more moisturizing creamy texture to it. It's been infused with a lot of different plant oils that really help to nourish the skin. It doesn't foam up at all, which is what really helps it to be very gentle and respectful on the skin, but it does still clean the skin really gently and nicely. When you rinse it away, you don't have an oily film on your skin, but your skin's not feeling dry and tight either. [...] This one will leave a gentle layer on your skin after you've rinsed it away. It's not too filmy, but it just kind of goes into all the dry areas and sorts of fills it in with this light kiss of moisture, making your skin feel really balanced and moisturized."
The Best Skincare of 2023! 🎉
"This is so luxurious, it's so dreamy, it's so moisturizing. It is a true milk cleanser and I absolutely love this texture. This is very milky and luxurious, it's fluidy but it has so much moisture. It feels so good on the skin, so comforting and soothing. It's a really beautifully formulated milk cleanser too. It's not something that feels really filmy after you wash it off your face. It definitely cleans the skin, it's very skin respectful. Everything about it just feels top-notch, top shelf, super duper high quality. It's definitely a must if you do suffer with dryness or dehydration. If you're a tretinoin user, it's so great to have a really gentle, moisturizing milk type of cleanser on hand."

"I primarily use this as a first cleanse, although you can use it as a two-step cleanse as well, but this is really really good at removing your makeup and removing sunscreen so gently without leaving your skin feel stripped and tight and parched. At first it's like a really water down gel cream texture and then you add water to it to emulsify and it turns into like milky cream that's super easy to wash away. The yam root helps moisturize the skin and strengthen your skin barrier but also has some promising anti-aging qualities, potentially encouraging growth of new skin cells having that anti-aging effect. This is a cleanser for all skin types, anyone who maybe feels like your usual cleansers or foaming cleansers are maybe a little bit too stripping for your skin."
