What the gurus are saying

Experts praise this gel cream for its ingredient lineup, particularly for those with oily or acne-prone skin, citing the brightening and anti-inflammatory benefits of niacinamide, tranexamic acid, and vitamin C. The main thing to keep in mind is the finish: it leaves a shiny appearance on its own, which may not suit everyone with oily skin, but it soaks in well and works nicely layered under sunscreen or other products. Those looking to use it solo may want to test it first to see if the shine works for them.

"The onion new pair gel cream, I love the sunscreen in this line. Onion bulb extract may be anti-inflammatory, it's got niacinamide good for dark spots and hyperpigmentation, the moisture barrier panthenol is very moisturizing and it's also got hyaluronic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphates a stable form of vitamin C, tranexamic acid good for post acne redness. Kind of got a little bit of a purplish hue, nice light gel cream, no fragrance."

"It's got kind of a shiny finish which I actually really like using this in my evening routine or sometimes underneath a mattifying sunscreen. Sometimes if I use a sunscreen that has a lot of alcohol in it this seems to work well underneath it because when you just use it on its own it kind of has a shiny finish to it which I think a lot of people with oily or acne-prone skin might not totally love. But it does tend to soak in and tends to work well under other products which is nice. If you apply it just on its own you might not be totally in love with it, but the texture of it is just amazing and it soaks in pretty nicely. The exciting ingredients are sodium ascorbyl phosphate which is a vitamin C derivative, neem extracts, sorbitol which is a humectant, niacinamide, tranexamic acid, eggplant, turmeric. They've got the onion, niacinamide, tranexamic acid and then turmeric as kind of the main stars of the show but they're all wonderful ingredients and they all really work well together."
