What the gurus are saying

Dermatologists praise this as an excellent mineral sunscreen option for sensitive skin, particularly those unable to tolerate chemical filters. The formula balances efficacy with a relatively elegant, lightweight texture for a zinc oxide product. Gurus note it does leave temporary white cast on application but minimizes it after absorption, and finishes with a subtle mattifying effect rather than dewy shine. The short, simple ingredient list appeals to those seeking hydration without excess botanicals.

"This one has niacinamide and it's also very hydrating, has hyaluronic acids, SPF 50+ and PA4+. I wanted to highlight this because this is for people who only want zinc oxide containing products. There are some patients who are sensitive to chemical UV filters and even chemical UV filters that break down in the sunlight you can become sensitized or have an allergy to those byproducts. So there's some patients who want to get into K Beauty but they're not able to tolerate the UV filters. This is how you can get into the game. It is thicker because it has zinc oxide but they do a great job, it's still very lightweight for a mineral sunscreen. You've got niacinamide and your hyaluronic acid. What I also like is that if you have sensitive skin this has a much shorter ingredient list than the others with a lot of botanical ingredients that you might see in K Beauty. This one they keep it pretty simple and short. It has adenine as well, vitamin E, really nice ingredients but not a lot of extras, which I'm okay with for those who have sensitive skin."

"This contains purely zinc oxide as the UV filter. It is SPF 50 but only offers PA3 plus, not four. Overall it is a really nice one. It also contains panthenol, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid, all hydrating and soothing ingredients that can help to support the skin barrier. As far as texture, it is going to be a little more dense and in some sense harder to spread compared to the gel cream, just naturally being a cream. Mineral sunscreens do take a little bit more effort to spread. It doesn't really leave much of a white cast but you've got to give it time to let it absorb and sit on your skin before that whiteness dissipates. When you first put it on and rub it in, it's going to look slightly white, but once it's absorbed, it actually leaves minimal white cast for being a zinc mineral sunscreen. It also comes with a slightly mattifying finish, so for those individuals that don't like a dewy finish, this would be a good one to try. For the formulation, it is one of the more elegant mineral-based sunscreens. If you have sensitive skin or dry skin, I think this one is going to feel better on your skin and better support your skin, just naturally being a cream. The mineral filters are going to be a little bit less irritating if you have sensitivity to chemical filters."
