What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise this cleanser for its gentle, effective formula and affordable price point. It's consistently recommended for oily skin types, with reviewers noting its low-foaming jelly texture and oil-control benefits. The main divide is seasonal and skin-type dependent: it works well spring through summer but can feel slightly drying on already-dry or sensitive skin. Some find it ideal for morning cleansing, while others prefer it for evening use.

"This always has done a great job of removing my sunscreen and anything else on my face at the end of the day. Because of the more hydrating aspects of this cleanser, I love to use it as a morning cleanser as opposed to a nighttime cleanser and use something a little bit more oriented towards my oily skin at night. But whenever you want to use it, it totally works. Such a good cleanser with a good simple formula that really works for any skin type, but especially if you're wanting to boost the glow within your skin."

"This one's fragrance-free and contains an ingredient that is supposed to prevent oiliness and help absorb oil on skin. It's nice, and I use this one more during the Spring and Summer. It's a little bit too much for me during the winter when my skin's already dry, but this one is a really nice option and pretty affordable."

"This is the Isntree Green Tea Fresh Cleanser and I'm gonna rate this with the laughing but also sweating nervously at the same time emoji because I'm kind of a little bit nervous about this because I don't really love this. I want to love it, but it's just not right for my skin type. That said, I would not hesitate to recommend this for oily skin types. The green tea line from Isntree really is geared towards controlling oil on oily skin types, and I feel like the cleanser is no exception. This is definitely gentle, definitely a low pH respectful type of cleanser. There's not stripping ingredients in here. The texture is more of a jelly, bouncy type of texture with real green tea bits in it. It's very low foaming, which is another hint that it's not a really surfactant-heavy, harsh, and stripping cleanser. It's very gentle, it envelops your skin, it cleans really effectively and feels great, but my skin always just feels a whisper too tight, a whisper too dry when I use this. It's not full-on stripping, but it's just enough where I don't feel comfortable with it."
