    What the gurus are saying

This tinted sunscreen spreads smoothly and leaves a hydrated, non-greasy finish without white cast or eye irritation, and the stabilized vitamin C may help protect against oxidative stress. Dermatologists praise how it works under makeup and the niacinamide concentration is at a reasonable strength; for medium to deep skin tones, the tint may help offset blue light's effects on skin. One expert has only just begun testing it, so the picture is still coming together.

"Iris and romeo weekend skin is a really nice alternative"

"I've been loving this one, it's from Iris and Romeo, it's their Weekend Skin SPF50+ with Vitamin C and Glow. This is their Warm Glow shade and I've been liking it a lot. I do tend to use a tinted sunscreen when I go to the gym just because I feel like I just want to look a little bit refreshed when I go to the gym. What I do before the gym is splash my face with some water, I throw my sunscreen on and then I'll curl my lashes and do my brows, like put a little brow gel into my brows and then I'll put on a lip balm. That's it. This warmth that you're seeing to my skin, it's so pretty."

"It comes in three shades. I got it in the lightest tint which is called Universal. It feels slightly greasy but not heavy, it's very very shiny. The tint works well for my skin tone, it's easy to spread but it doesn't sit great on the skin and it slides around and comes off and is very settled into my neck wrinkles. This one got zero out of five points."

"This product has a stabilized form of vitamin C which may also help ward off oxidative stress. It comes in three shades. I have the medium shade which is called Warm Glow and I really like the way this appears on the skin. It gives a very nice hydrated but not overly dewy finish. It's not greasy, it's not oily, and it doesn't peel on the skin surface. It goes underneath makeup just fine, and I really like how easy it is to spread on the skin surface. The niacinamide is at 3% strength which is a reasonable concentration. Fragrance free, does not burn or sting around the eyes, and it does not leave any kind of white chalky cast on the skin surface. It's a tinted sunscreen which I also like because if you have a medium to deep skin tone, choosing a tinted sunscreen may help offset some of the pro-pigmenting effects of visible light that comes from the sun, specifically the blue light wavelengths."

"If you're looking for a tinted sunscreen and you want that coverage, this is the best one I can recommend. This is the Iris and Romeo Weekend Skin, but it's not just an SPF 50. It's also a vitamin C and it's also basically a dewy glowy foundation. I've used this in San Francisco, I've used this in the hot hot heat of Arizona, I've used this in the pool, I've used this in a river. This is so good. She wanted to create a sunscreen that made her look fantastic and could replace her foundation but also protected her and literally had vitamin C and skin care benefits. Vitamin C is amazing to use."

3 Best Sunscreens That Boost Themselves Up With Vitamin C
"This is an SPF 50 tinted sunscreen with vitamin C in it, and it's a slightly thicker formula that comes out in a tinted color. If you used to use a foundation with sunscreen and found that it doesn't cover your skin as well as it needs to, this is going to be your best friend because it covers so well. It's a mineral formula with zinc oxide, which is better for people with sensitive skin. This one has Mica, which gives it a little bit of shimmer that provides the glow, and it also has apple extract in it. This one is fragrance-free, so if you are sensitive, it could be an awesome option. This side of my face is like glowing in bronze whereas the other side is like bright and illuminated. This one really does brighten up the skin and give it a glow. Even though this one's expensive, I love this."
Luxury Skincare Swaps That Saved Me Over $1000
"This is a vitamin C SPF 50 sunscreen that is thick, almost thick, and it's not exactly the same as the Colorescience, but it is very comparable. The Colorescience is on one side and the Iris and Romeo is on this side. Iris and Romeo is a little bit more oily, while the Colorescience definitely lends itself better to covering scars, texture, and redness and it's a little bit more mattified. But these are both great options. This one from Iris and Romeo has vitamin C, which is amazing. It has SPF 50 vitamin C mineral sunscreen and a gorgeous tint. The Colorescience has a biosolus complex that is patent pending, which is basically meant to calm down redness and skin even after you take the sunscreen off. However, if you're looking for a dupe or a swap, this is an amazing switch, especially if you only want to pay fifty instead of one hundred fifty-five."
After I Was ROBBED, This Is The Skincare I Repurchased & Rebought…
"This Iris and Romeo sunscreen is the only one I repurchased. The K Beauty ones were really good but they were from Stylevana and I didn't want to wait for them to get shipped across the ocean."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

    Source: DermNet

    Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

    Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.
