What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this cream for its elegant gel-cream texture that hydrates without feeling heavy or greasy, making it work seamlessly under sunscreen and makeup. The licorice root extract earns repeated credit for calming redness and fading newer dark spots, though reviewers note it won't tackle stubborn melasma alone. The main critique is the presence of fragrance, which some users did not want. Price and universal skin-type compatibility are frequently highlighted as selling points.

New to Korean Skin Care? The BEST Products to Start With!
"I've gone through many bottles of this and I love it because it gives that satisfying gel experience but a boost of hydration and moisture. I'm FROM is just a great Korean skincare brand that just feels so luxurious, and their formulas are really out of this world. This moisturizer is no different, not only is it going to give your skin a splash of hydration, but it also has licorice root extract which is great for fading hyperpigmentation and dark spots, balancing the tone of your skin, helping with dark circles, alongside other incredible ingredients that are great for reducing irritation and sensitivity. I always love using this one whenever I'm traveling to like dry climates where I need that moisture but I don't want to feel like there's a heavy thick cream on my face, this is my go-to."

"I really like how my skin looks. The hyaluronic acid and some of the other ingredients make it feel moisturized but it's not too heavy. It's a very nice lightweight experience and my skin still looks relatively mattified, which not many products can do. The I'm from Licorice Calming Cream is a super nice lightweight gel cream. It feels really good on the skin and was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. That said, it does have fragrance, which I did not want, so that's a downside."

The BEST Moisturizers of 2025 🧴 Eczema, Lips, & All Skin Types!
"It is the I'm From Licorice Calming Cream. This one I found myself repurchasing and returning to so many times because it just makes the skin look so beautiful with a really elegant formula that has also additional benefits beyond just simply moisturizing the skin. When I first started using this one, I was mostly expecting it to be a nighttime moisturizer, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually works elegantly as a daytime moisturizer to make your skin look super nourished and hydrated without looking overly greasy. It has a really lovely gel cream consistency that just adds a splash of hydration to the skin, but still sinks in pretty nicely and just leaves this nice very slight hydrated sheen to the skin, perfect for combination skin. The main ingredient it uses is licorice root extract. Licorice root is a great natural extract that helps to fight against hyperpigmentation and dark spots in the skin. And it's also a great ingredient for helping to soothe excess redness and sensitivity in the skin."

"The I'm From Licorice Calming Cream is 19 bucks. This one's got licorice root, panthenol, it's got althea, rose extract, and vitamin E. It's more of a cream gel texture to it, but really nice product. No scent. This one's going to be geared towards normal to dry skin types and non acne prone skin types."

"A little bit of it goes a long way. It's got a really nice texture, it works well over vitamin C serums and it works well underneath sunscreen. No pilling. It's not terribly thick so when you end up applying makeup or anything over it, it doesn't feel like some moisturizers can feel too thick, especially when you add sunscreen onto it and that almost feels like you're wearing a mask. I don't have that at all with this one. Sets in really nicely, doesn't feel greasy. It's a little tacky but not terribly so. Very nice, wonderful, easy to use, very elegant texture and just works nice. This one became perfect for my morning routine."

"This doesn't contain sodium hyaluronic so there's no issues with it and it's not terribly thick so when you end up applying makeup or anything over it, it doesn't feel like some moisturizers can feel too thick, especially when you add sunscreen onto it. That almost feels like you're wearing a mask. I don't have that at all with this one, so this is a really nice option for a daytime routine. I personally prefer this in the daytime routine. This one just became perfect for my morning routine. It sets in really nicely, doesn't feel greasy. It's a little tacky but not terribly so. Very nice, wonderful, easy to use, very elegant texture and just works nice. The main star of the show is obviously licorice. They've got a couple different types of licorice extract that they use in here and they're both great for calming skin. The first one is licorice urea root extract, which is a skin conditioning extract. We've got chlorella algae extract, which is actually skin protecting, which makes it great for use during the daytime when it protects your skin from pollution and things like that."

"In terms of what this promises, it promises to calm skin and help brighten skin, and in my opinion this delivers on both. It'll help with newer, less stubborn hyperpigmentation issues, but it's not going to help a ton with old hyperpigmentation or stubborn melasma. It will certainly help, but licorice on its own can't do all that. For newer types of dark spots or things like that, it will certainly help or may be able to treat those better. It's nice, simple, calming. It helps with my redness as well during the daytime. It's really nice to layer with other products. This one's simple yet effective, and I really enjoy this during my daytime routine."
I'm from Licorice Calming Cream Review, How to Use, Dupes & Alternatives
"Overall in my opinion worth checking out especially if you're looking for a lightweight gel texture daytime cream. With a 10 being a perfect score, this one's a 10. It's got everything going for it. I can't find any faults with it. I look for faults in products and I just with this one didn't really see any."

"The I'm From Licorice Calming Cream is 22 bucks at Yes Style. We've got licorice, we've got panthenol, we've got ceramides in here. This one's got a nice lightweight texture to it, so I would say this one will work well for most skin types because it's got kind of that gel lotion texture to it. Soaks in nicely, it works well under sunscreen and makeup, no issues with peeling anything like that. It's a great option for most skin types."
New Skincare from Dr Ceuracle, I'm From, Kaine, Dr Jart & More First Impressions Review
"This feels really nice, the cream feels very wonderful actually on my skin. It's more of a gel cream, so which I prefer when it's hot out in the summer months or if you have oily skin. A gel cream is the way to go because it just soaks in easier, it's not as thick and it tends to play well under sunscreen. I prefer the finish of the I'm From to other options because it's not as shiny."
