What the gurus are saying

Fragrant botanicals like lemon, citrus, and cinnamon bark make up a considerable portion of this serum, which otherwise delivers moisturizing honey, healing centella, and antioxidant bee compounds. For anyone with fragrance sensitivity, there's an important caveat: propolis and royal jelly in this formula often cross-react with fragrance allergies, making it risky to use.

"The Honey Serum it's got um gerol lemon and citr as well as cinnamon bark which uh it's a lot of fragrance that just isn't good for your skin"
~Mixed
"This is the I'm From Honey Serum with honey that's antibacterial and rich in humectants, so it's moisturizing. It has centella extract for healing, turmeric root extract with antioxidants, niacinamide, bee venom, royal jelly, and propolis, which are going to have humectants and antioxidants. This product, unfortunately, does have fragrance. If you're allergic to fragrance, propolis and royal jelly often will cross-react, so you have to avoid it."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.
