What the gurus are saying

This spray cuts down on bacteria without stripping skin the way harsher actives do, making it genuinely gentle enough for sensitive areas and conditions like eczema, rosacea, and eye irritation. A key thing to know: hypochlorous acid can inactivate some antioxidants, so gurus suggest letting skin settle before layering other active ingredients on top. It's also simple and inexpensive, so there's no need to overspend on pricier versions.

"Hypochlorous acid spray is one I really like on the go. A lot of people like to use these for their face. They're super gentle and it helps to cut down on the bacteria that break down sweat and lead to odor. It's not as aggressive in terms of the wiping out of microflora. It's gentle, it's very gentle for sensitive skin. It can be a touch drying but not anywhere near as drying in comparison to benzoyl peroxide. And it can be left on the skin you can spray it there, you don't have to rinse it off, so that makes it a great option when you're on the go to cut down on the bacterial breakdown of sweat. It's something I use a lot when I'm working out."

"Hypochlorous acid does not have to be expensive, it's actually a very simple product with very simple ingredients, literally one or two ingredients in it. Do not overspend on this product, but it can be so helpful in cutting down irritation around the eyes, like styes and blepharitis. It also is really good for the skin and can help if you have conditions like eczema, acne, or rosacea. It's just a really great product. You do have to be careful with this though, it's thought that this can actually inactivate some antioxidants, so when I apply this to my eye area I'm not putting any other active skincare ingredients on right away. I'm just letting my skin calm down and relax."
