What the gurus are saying

Gurus acknowledge hyaluronidase's clinical utility for filler reversal but diverge sharply on safety. One reviewer expresses serious concern about documented cases of severe, widespread side effects including excessive moisture loss, skin damage, and systemic pain, noting the risks may rival or exceed the original filler concerns. The other presents it neutrally as an off-label tool. The community read is thin and split between caution and clinical acceptance.

"The benefits are that they can be dissolved with a special solution so if you don't like them they can dissolve them, and what they use to dissolve them is hyaluronidase, which is actually something that I'm more scared of than the fillers themselves because some people have had really really drastic results from it. Some people probably a lot, probably most people have it done with no issues, but hyaluronidase is meant to suck out the hyaluronic acid and remove the filler, but some people have had drastic reactions to this where it has some major side effects on their entire face and body. It ends up sucking it from everywhere, so you lose like all your moisture and your skin ends up looking and feeling wrinkled, dimpled, just older, even major pain and things throughout the body. I've seen some pictures and things like that. There has been more than enough cases that make me nervous about it."

"You may need to use a product called Hyaluronidase, which is a prescription-only medicine in the UK, which has an off-label use to melt hyaluronic acid filler. The way it does it, it breaks the bonds."
