What they liked

  • Full coverage that blends out smoothly
  • Wetter formula, easy to blend
  • Highly pigmented, a little goes a long way

What they flagged

  • Shade match can run light

What the gurus are saying

This wetter formula packs full coverage but blends diffusely enough that you can dial back the intensity, making it work for both highlighted looks and layering with darker concealers on the face. The finish leans matte as it sets, so those with dry under-eyes may want to test it first, though it pairs well with moisturiser or a luminising product if that's your skin type. The shade range may run slightly light for deeper skin tones.

"For my under eyes, I'm using Huda Beauty concealer in the shade marshmallow, which I believe is their lightest concealer shade. It's a nice full coverage concealer, and I just think it's going to look good with this overall tone."

"That's coverage, girl, that's coverage. When you start to blend it and it just keeps going, oh I like that, I like that a lot. It feels nice. This is going to be one of those full coverage more matte concealers that if you have extremely dry under eyes you might not like, but if you are someone who has slightly more oily skin or if you just really need that extra coverage. I think it looks really nice on the skin, I think it's really moving with my skin, it looks nice."

"I used my Huda Beauty concealer in the shade Marshmallow to help balance out the orange in my foundation, since it has a bit more of a blue tone to it. This is a beautiful concealer. Once I actually got foundations that matched my skin tone I didn't really need a neutral concealer like this as much anymore, but it's still a very very nice concealer."

"It's by Huda Beauty and it's a Faux Filter concealer. I would use it where you've got dark spots, so the corners. I do a little dot, little dot on each side of my face. Then I take one of these little sponges, rub it in first, dot it in first. And then I'll wet this just to brighten a little bit the corner of the eye. I use that a little bit just for that."

"So, this concealer, from what the girlies are saying, it's amazing. I don't remember if I've tried it. I've tried her foundation before, and I like the foundation, but the price tag on this, this is $31 for 0.30 oz of product."

"This is the Huda Beauty Faux Filter and I am shade Coconut Flakes. It's a wetter formula, like it's super full coverage but you can actually blend it. I will often use this more like for under eye brightening some kind of highlighting and then I'll use like a slightly darker concealer on the periphery of my face. I think that this concealer with the Lancôme like underneath it, this to me is such an amazing pair. I mean they just look so good together."

"My current concealer obsession is the Huda Beauty Faux Filter Concealer. It got sent to me as a sample from a Sephora order, and that marketing completely worked on me because I used that little sample up and then I was like wow I have really liked using this concealer, so I went out and bought some more. I'm using the shade coconut flakes 2.7 N which is slightly lighter than my skin tone. When I first put it on it looks a lot lighter, and then after it's sat on my skin for a bit it darkens up a little bit. It's like a big doe foot applicator and this is incredibly pigmented so you just need the tiniest bit. Even so, this is so full coverage if you just use a little bit and spend a little extra time blending I feel like it can still look very natural on a minimal makeup day."

"I love it. I am a concealer freak, if there's one thing I will shop for and like load my kit up with, it's concealers. I love concealers. This one is stunning. It literally is the title, like it does not disappoint. It is a faux filter for under your eyes, beautiful coverage, lays beautifully under your eyes. It actually feels really lightweight too for being more of a full coverage concealer. It feels like nothing, really feels really nice and like hydrating and just like creamy on your skin. It doesn't feel like cakey, doesn't look cakey. It's nearly impossible to mess up the application of it in my opinion, unless you like really overdo it and apply way too much. I recommend this because I think it's just stunning. I don't know why more people aren't like running to pick it up."

"I'm going to add some concealer as a base on the eyes and it's Huda Beauty one. So, I just use a painting brush. And then we're going to apply it on the lids and a bit under the brow in a tiny, thin layer."

"My favorite thing about this particular concealer is that it's not super like full coverage. The way it kind of blends out, it's almost like in a very diffused way. So you can tell that you're highlighted, but you're not super snatched. And that works for the type of finish we are going for."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
